Farmhouse above Diersville as base?
Topic. I usually convert prefabs into bases, but I've never tried out the Farmhouse just north of Diersville in Navezgane.

Anyone had any experience building it up as a base, and is it worth it or better to stick to other prefabs (Houses, etc)

Dogs spawn in the barn across from it, and the house is wooden which so far as zombies are concerned is as tough as a wet tissue. I would stick to more rugged single prefabs, or best is to build a base from scratch and avoid having sleeper spwan points in it.

Convert the basement.

Other than that the house is big enough to line all the walls (Ground floor more I guess) With rebar reinforced concreate, And as the zeds peel away the flimsy wood just paint the concreate to match the rest of the house lol.

Ofcourse best defense is a wall of oil barrels....good early warning system too.

Only works once thought, but at least it will wake you up

Yeah was actually thinking of reinforcing the barn itself, it'll be me and two others so reinforcing pre-fabs wouldn't take too long.

As a reference I actually usually go the pier at the lake west of Diersville

The barn is a horrid place to make a base of.

My base is at the farm, I used the garage across from the barn and use the house beside it as the killing zone. It's worked very well with minimum rescources.
4 dart traps, 5 blade traps with log spikes in the house and a double row of log spikes around the garage with triple thick concrete block walls.
Motion sensors around hooked to sirens to give me a heads up when repairing.
I made level 200 yesterday and am close to finishing exploring Navezgane.

True that... yeah I'm just looking for some pretty central prefabs to build up at, don't really like starting from scratch.

Try the smaller cabin north of diresville near a small lake/pond. Also wood, but smaller so easier to reinforce. Yet near water and still not far from diresville nor that farm. Or find yourself a forge house off on it's own, or some other poi that is already better than wood to start from.

I have a sort of related/unrelated question. If you tear down those barns where the dogs spawn, do they stop spawning in?

In theory with a LCB or bedroll you can stop them. However this build it would appear to be anyone's guess if it will work as intended or not.

Also in the case of Naz you get dogs at every intersection too, something to keep in mind.

I prefer the Working Stiffs south of that farm and just west of Diersville. One of my favouriote POIs to convert on Navesgane. Nice and central too.

I set up a base using the barn and the little building beside it changing all the blocks to Flagstone and a mine underneath for all the workstations. I'm not really sure you can call it a base more like a huge walking platform now with hundreds of spikes and barbwire. It's only been through two or three horde nights and I pretty much just sit in the middle shooting arrows while they kill themselves.

So my mate and I decided to start converting that two story house on the hill just south of Spillway Lake into a base.

Seems to be going pretty well at the moment, only Day 3 though so still a while to see if it goes well on horde night.
