Pressure Trigger Plates
I have found that the dart traps in enough quantity work rather well. The problem is getting them to fire when an enemy is near rather than have them fire continually.

I created a long hallway of zombie death with dart traps above their heads. I connect them to a 5x1 pressure plate. However, the pressure plate only has 2500 health. Exploding cops, and other aoe hit zombies like soldiers tend to destroy the plate before they can break down the door, thus rendering the traps useless.

Anyone find a way to get the traps firing without being destroyed?

I'd like to know as well. A random thought came to mind though, ive been playing with motion sensors and speakers and wondered if the same can be applied to dart traps.

I have my motion sensors set to triggered which turns my alarms on when zeds are outside my base. Maybe wiring the sensor to the dart trap will only turn it on when zeds are detected. Make sure to set to triggered and adjust the camera of the sensor to the direction the zeds will come.

Try it and let me know.

I do wish I could wire multiple sensors to one speaker or power relay. Its very odd that i cant. I have to have a speaker for each motion sensor. So my base has like 15 speakers lol. I tried wiring all sensors to power relays but the relays only accept one input it seems. Idk its weird, sorry for all this technical stuff lol.

No, I really appreciate it. I am going to try it right now.

What is the benefit of the speaker? What does it actually do?

Basically its an Alarm system. So sometimes if a wondering horde comes to your base without your knowledge while at home, the alarm will go off. So for me, during a monsoon (intense rain), its hard to hear zombies outside breaking my base. So I have that setup.

Well, I tied the generator to a motion sensor and the motion to a dart trap....it did nothing. Perhaps I was doing it wrong, but I am having trouble. I have found dart traps to be rather amazing when you get enough iron.

Having 3 on each side of the front of your vault door with one on top means 7 darts shooting.

I tested it on a irradiated feral cop, and he died quite quickly without exploding. However, I was using a pressure plate and it broke after a few other tests. Maybe a trip wire through the walls? I have had a hard time getting the tripwire to set off the traps.

If the dart traps are above the zombies heads shooting downwards, wouldn't your own darts be contributing to the damage to the pressure plates rather nastily? If you arrange the darts to fire sideways instead, you might find the pressure plates last a bit longer.

Well, the idea is for them to only fire when a zombie is there, thus only hitting the zombie. However, after you mention it, this does pose a problem. I will need to test to see how much damage a dart does to a pressure plate.

Thanks!
