Take a look at https://7dtd.illy.bz/, they created a pretty simple and easy to follow step-by-step installation guide along with a few scripts to tie it all together. Comes complete with an automatic backup, support for multiple servers, configuration templating... basically all you could want.

Works with A16, but you have to run its updateengine script with the --experimental flag manually once to make it use the experimental A16 branch. Or you download it manually, if you prefer with a
