Stuck at "Building environment"
Hello, for a few months I've been trying to fix my game of this issue, Installing the game twice deleting all my game files and saves even rebooting my computer. And my game just won't load up when I try to load my game it goes to building environment and just freezes when I click with my mouse the game crashes. So now I can't host a game or create a single player one.

I tried to fix by going in the alpha 16 still didn't worked

The bug appeared on the alpha 15.2

I have checked several forums and played around a bit and was able to use part of an old post to fix my glitch.

First I opened the console command screen by typing F1
Secondly I typed DM to open the debug menu
next I used to teleport option by typing "TP [my steam username] 70,0,0

to my surprise the game loaded where i had logged off previously!

Hope this works for any of you running into a similar issue.

Well, this could caused by a few things, such as memory issues or hardware limitations. So - of course the usual:

PC Specs pretty please;
Did it run fine before? If yes;

Use the following procedure to reproduce the problem:
First Exit the game or make sure the game is not running.
Start the game. Do NOT ALT+TAB.
Reproduce the problem.
Exit the game.
In the steam client.
Right Click 7 Days To Die and select properties
Click the Local Files Tab
Click the Browse local files button.
double-click the \7DaysToDie_Data\ folder
open output_log.txt Or the latest output_log_<DATETIME>.txt where <DATETIME> is the last date/time found in the filename.
Copy all the contents {CTRL+A then CTRL+C}
paste the contents to http://pastebin.com
Include the link to that paste.

If no;
You can try switching to the 32-bit version in the launcher and still follow the steps if you answered yes.

Anyways - a detailed report of the "output_log" to see what may cause the crash and your PC specs may help narrow the issue.

I've been stuck there also. My solution was to just restart the game and that usually worked. I also outlasted the screen. Get stuck where you, so just left it there and went and took a shower and when I came back, it had finally loaded. 15 and 16 have both been dicier than previous builds. Older systems become less compatible. I'm wondering if I'll have enough machine when TFP finally go commercial. One other option I tried that finally got me into a16 was to as completely unstall and re-install Steam. Good luck.

I don't know my PC specs but I know that I can run on Gta5 and Friday the 13th on the best quality, so I guess that it's not that.

I already switched to the 32 bit version.

I'll give you the pastebin in a few moments.

This tidbit is what I think may be an issue, but I've never encoutered it before. I compared with my logs and I never got those lines in any of them - even going into my A14 and early A15 logs.

Surely someone could shed some light - if not - do go on the official forums and into the bug section - post there and see if anyone can analyze this as well - who knows, maybe someone here or over there can pinpoint the actual issue.

Alright thank you !

Alright, I went ahead and looked it up - on the official forums, people had this issue, but it was mostly related to Dedicated Servers not running due to Craft Timer and Loot Speed values in the serverconfig.xml - but that shouldn't affect... normally, your SP games.

So - it is possible the output log you linked - is the one without any dates at the end.

Because in the 7daystodie_data folder, there is the "Output_log.txt" file, with no date and time referenced and there's this:

output_log__2017-07-05__15-17-29

That last one, is my most recent output log from when I launched my SP game - because, as mentioned - those "lines" are in my output_log.txt, which references a Dedicated Server.

so make sure you pastebin the one with the most recent date referenced.

Yeah, I looked it up and it's the good one not the unnamed one

Ugh, just started happening to me in A16. It doesn't freeze or anything, it just keeps "building environment".

I’ve found the solution to this problem for PC / steam users. Please share with as needed.

The problem somewhere in the registry settings for 7 days to die, these settings configure your personal settings (fov, default game settings, graphics settings, etc). It appears there is one or more corrupt keys. We can reload these keys (this resets these settings to default) by following the instructions below.

1) Close 7 Days To Die
2) Open Regedit on your computer
3) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\The Fun Pimps
4) Delete the entire 7 Days To Die folder. (You can also right-click and export to save a copy of these settings if you wish to refer to the settings later)
5) Your 7 Days will now load properly

Notes: If you do not wish to reset all settings, you could investigate into exactly which key(s) are causing this problem.

Thank you,
