Your noob mistakes?

My biggest mistake was thinking that the 7th day horde came on the night of the 8th day... No horde base, just a wooden shelter and an outside mine surrounded by wood and a wooden door. I'm currently in the mine now thinking on how to survive.

block the ground level access of the mine with frames or a hatch so they can't get down after you, then just wait it out.

I did 2 layers of 50 pillars with a space. Sadly the zombies didnt even try to dig down.

The dumbest thing I have done is hit a red barrell with stone axe out of curiousity and it blew up :\

Long way back when i started playing around alpha 6 i demolished a car with an axe to see what i can get from it... well i got a car blast in my the face :L

Putting spikes down around base and not leaving a way to get inside. So now I'm stuck on out side of base.

Die out in the boonies exploring a large city, and be 3/4 of the way to my pack when i hear that terrible terrible "Bwooooooom" that means night time just hit....And there I was without any gear, just coming up on the city, and seeing the horde of doom sprinting my way.

Digging down to bedrock. Then having my pick break and relizing I put my stack of wood in a crate at my house when I was unloading loot.

In my first game I didn't know you could smelt used tools to get the iron back. My husband and I dug a tunnel from the farm in Nav to the school. Each time we used up a pickaxe we would just drop it.

Also when we got to the school we tunneled up right where the fountain thing is. So basically our tunnel got flooded, and we had to fight in the flooded tunnel because the zombies in the school were waiting for us when we got to the top.

That whole game was kind of a hot mess tbh.

I also ate glass and died

Climbed to tower and hit one block making the thing collapse

Franticlly gathering stone in the gloom as night approaches,

Go to whack it with my pickaxe and it moves

Died to mines a few times, The mines next to the chem station and in the gunroom of the food market poi.

I now watch where I walk.



One game I found a hole and fell a long way down onto what I thought were punji stakes. Broken leg and no way of getting out of the hole, so had to restart.

Probably the same as most. Thought I could take out a zombie like an action hero using my stone axe and IRL skills. That was back in A5.2 though....

Wood Frames are your Friend, put them over the top of your Spikes and pick them back up as you go , always carry a stack, great for Climbing, blocking doors, windows, repairing Spikes, etc

oh and since I was half asleep when posting and totes missed the point of the thread.....

noob mistake: Crouching down and creeping along the edge of a catwalk, Minecraft style, thinking I could hang over the edge to place another block... then promptly fall into my spiked trench. So ded.
