how to survive in the heat?
I'm drinking the plantjuice it helps a little, but once in a while I loose track of the heatmeter and die, because of my lack of awearness.

Stripping down to the pants only works if I find a constructionhelmet, or sunglasses with footballhelmet and a red panty...

So I'm wondering does a hut even help you against the heat? How do you handle the desert?

Animal Hide Poncho should give -20 or -30 insulation to survive the heat easier. And a Plant Hide Hat (not a hood), gives -10 insulation. Helps you wear armor, and survive the heat at the same time. It should be enough to survive the heat with both, and keep armor on, or if too hot, just scavenge a shirt and shorts for even less.

You want the "hot" weather clothing items: cowboy hat (-10), poncho (-20), shorts (-10), tank top (-10). Typically I wear all these items and swap the poncho for the puffer coat as required.... effectively beating the weather survival mechanic.

I've been running around with hazmat shirt and pants, the animal hide poncho, miners helmet, and scrap iron armor in each of the armor slots. Long as I drink some yucca juice now and then, I seldom get over 90 in the heat category which is enough to thrive in the desert biomes. Then when I go somewhere cold I have a trenchcoat stashed in my base to swap out the poncho with.

Keep in mind that actions that use stamina will also raise your "Feels like" temperature rating as well.

There is a mod to have thirst, hunger and termperature in the HUI next to your stamina and health at all times. Very usefull, also realistic

Stripping down won't nessecarily help. You need to look for clothing with Negative insulation values :

The easiest to make is the Plant Fiber Hat : -10 F

Once you can kill and skin some critters the Animal Hide Poncho (-20 F) is easy enough to make.

Loot wise T-Shirts and Shorts will help too.

Drinks like Goldenrod tea and Yucca Juice are also good for slaking your thirst better than plain water.

I am going out on a limb and assuming you are new-ish to the game? If so Welcome :)

I have a lot of tips to share if you want on my guide, so feel free to peruse it : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=824137637

I just edit it out so I don't have to deal with it. Hopefully it will become a choice by options drop down menu in the future. The weather survival is the the one thing I truely dispise in this game.

if you do not like weather Hot/cold.

press F1
and type: weathersurvival off

each time you start the game, it removes it.

Posts above have already listed several pieces of clothing to wear; however, if you are unsure of what clothing to wear, highlight it in your inventory and read the description.
