All the others use gun smithing for repair checks (mainly).
That said Blunderbuss ammo crafting raises gunsmithing so it can be used early on to level it up to a point where you could start making other gun ammo.
Well blunder is sorta useless atm (esp early game) but if push comes to shove you can try to use it if you are running low on arrows (but dont use it on dogs cuz due to low rate of reload you will be eaten alive).
well you could also use it to level up the skill in shotguns with it but imho it aint ideal situation since you can use the same powder and paper to make the shotgun shells and then use those.
In the end most ppl sorta tend to avoid blunderbuss due to long reload time and near uselesness early game which might get you killed easier than if you just used the bow (aka no need to get to close).
You also cannot make ammo without guns smithing.
You may find this[7daystodie.gamepedia.com] helpful.
Blunder wouldnt help much with running zeds due to slow reload -> aka miss or fail to stun = R.I.P (Rest in pieces).
Also at least from my point of view its a pure waste to put points into skills -> its better to spend those on perks. But ofc to each his own - if it works for you then who am i to judge :P Cheers.
Spending points on grindable stuff is just easier, don't want to cut trees for week and craft clubs/bows and deconstruct them, that's boring, the only things that feels naturaly leveling are construction tools, mining, misc crafting... things that need to be crafted often, tool smithing, weapon smithing and gun smithing..., would never get it to 100 without grinding.
Also back to blunder sucking and using bow, this game is super easy, with 25% loot having tons of stuff even at day 50, difficulty only makes zombies more resistant, not going to make zombies run all the time bcs that would be annoying to craft spikes everywhere so... just don't want to 1-2 hit stuff with bow.
well it certainly sucks since even early on you can find normal shotgun or short one with relative ease thus it makes blunder sorta bad choice. In my case ive modded it out a bit so you can fire two shots before reload (in that configuration it works nicely) it does allow you some room to wiggle and is slightly nicer than a bow in a pinch) but you still feel the need to switch it for normal shotgun sooner or later.
imho it was way way better with gore blocks which gave the game a lot of unpredictability during the horde nights now its very easy to defend against even biggest hordes and assuming you dont fall down from your fortifications quite hard to die (unless you tend to stay in one place to get puked on by cops...).
so it would be nice to see them back in one way or the other
There used to be a block made of the gooey remains of zombies after they died and decomposed. Instead of the now flat corpse and then skeleton "blocks". The gore blocks were behaving much like dirt or rocks or gravel does - a triangle-y block that zombies could climb on top of and eventually reach you if you didn't take out the gore first.
Got to it first - and yeah - like that bad movie adaptation with Brad Pitt.
