Best map I have ever seen
So i was just playing around with names and wanting to get a good map to set up a base on and work towars some of the achievements. Therefore I thought of the name of "Achieve" and so far I am loving it. The trader spawns right in a little valley of burnt so it is good for coal, and its right next to a plains Biome to the south where I have my base. I discovered the other day that To the north is a well sized town with many good buildings, southwest is the HUB City which is HUGE. (12X8 buildings) To the east and southeeast are also large towns.

All of these POI are withing a 1.5km radius only. Just near the trader is a army bunker facility and to the east about 500m from the trader is an army camp so great chance to get some good loot early on. Great map so far and still have a bunch of exploring to di.

Edit: Each city nearby either has a Missile Silo plant, A full on Prison, or some sort of barricaded building, multiple abonded trader facilities as well.

The best map for ahcievement hunting is the default navezgane. No random gen has the density of POI or the balance of close packed spacing that navez has. There's also the beneifit of being able to look up maps that note every detail of it

The western trader (the one actually named Joel) sits in a forest biome within easy walk to a lake with houses that have forges, he has a workbench and cement mixer. Theres a chemistry station down the street at the strip club and another cement mixer in a cave just south of him

It's within walk distance of a book store that respawns lots of schematics with every respawn

Every biome is within easy reach from there and you'll never run out of wood, cotton, feathers, coal, etc

Random gens are fine if you just want a new experience, but none are as simple and densely packed for a quick start up as navezgane if you are just wanting to focus on getting achievements done and having an easy starting area

True, one thing Navez does not have is a variety of buildings. Random allows the ability to continusouly find new towns and buildings in them. Navez is a set and is always the same so it gets repetative over time

points of interest are pre constructed, it doesn't take long to see them all and random gens just shuffle them around. it doesn't generate "new" buildings it just puts them in different locations

navez also has some poi that are not part of the random maps

Which POIs does Nave have and RG doesnt?

The Canyon, Football Stadium, Canyon Gift Shop, Indian Cliff Village, just to name 4 off the top of my head. It also has 5 strategically placed traders (1 in the middle and another near each corner), most random gens don't balance the traders as nicely

I'm not saying random gens aren't fun and interesting, but if you haven't fully experienced navezgane first, it is simply the easiest to learn on and get your achievements done

Then broaden your horizons with as many random gens as your heart desires

I think you can still find a download link for the map in the description for this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki7wkU5ag08

I'd post a direct link but steam likes to mangle it with censorship, here it is anyway:
{LINK REMOVED}

If steam censored it, it might show up correctly if you reply and than copy the text

My early days were spent living in the north west national forest with easy access to a trader, and regular visits to crack a book down the street. But there's a lot on that little map to explore before needing to see random gens, especially if your goal with a random gen is to find one that is densely packed
