How to Make a Dirt Block ?

I cant find a "Dirt Block" in the Crafting Menue. I want to build a underground Farm, so i though i could place Dirt Floor (made of Dirt) between Wood Blocks. But the only thing im getting are Diamond shape Dirt Fragments that dont fit and cant be used to plant a seed....

Any hint what im doing wrong ?

Have the Dirt in your Backpack, click it, choose recipes, pick which type of dirt you want.

By that Image you are doing nothing wrong, it does not fill a single block properly, you need 4 blocks just to get a flat piece, but the edges are still slanted.

So on a 2x2 Area the Dirt looks a little bit better, but still has a gap between the surrounding Blocks.

No, you have a flat area in the middle, to make a garden bed you need to make it bigger, but there will always be that slant on the edge.

I think it looked better in an earlier build, where it filled the whole block, not sure why its like that now.

You do not need anything around the edge either, you can put it straight on the ground/floor etc.
