each log is worth 50s on the forge
wood appears to have been balanced. A15 gave far too much
I think it's more balanced than before. Building a wooden house into the first day wasn't far far away from real or from balanced.
If you are getting higher levels/perks and better tools you even will get more wood out the them.
If you start with flagstone you can upgrade to cobble without the need to waste wood on the frames. Since zombies have a damage bonus against wood you really should build with stone anyway, and with wood being more precious now you need to be as efficient with your resources as possible. :)
They nerfed wood. Basically theres less trees and trees yield less wood. Essentially in order to erect proper defences early you need to rush for flagstone. Wood is more of a precious resource now rather then something that was just always of abundance. You need to take special care of your wood reserves in order to ensure survival.
I agree, I liked having to transition from wood - flagstone - cement - concrete - reinforced concrete. Now you just skip that whole first step.
5 points for the first 2 level and 10% bonus on resource gathering with the stone axe.
I play with 2 real life hours per ingame day (PvE) and normally i would have finished my basic 7x7 wood tower on the first day. This time i had to spend the whole night with a 25% finished half tower.
I nearly crapped my pants when a random zombie was slowly wandering to my tower. I set the difficult to the highest and it took me more than 20 body hits with my bow, because i couldn't score a headshot.
what is this perk called?
