should have been keeping them anyway, they prevented random zombie spawns in a radius around them
Not only can you test this yourself if you don't believe me, but it's documented in the games files and I quote:
It's bedrolls that function like a claimblock in relation to spawn blocking
You can find this note in the xml.txt file located
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Data\Config
Neither claim blocks nor bedrolls stop POI placed zombies, they were never supposed to respawn anyway, but sometimes they do. And if they do, they ignore both the bedrolls and the claimblocks
But actual random spawned zombies: are blocked
I have no idea what changes will happen with sleepers coming in a16 or if the POI placement bug will be fixed
player made blocks stop random spawns ON THE BLOCK
claim blocks and bedrolls stop random spawns IN A RADIUS
Which means no matter how big you make your block area, you should still put some land claims around the edge to keep the randoms from spawning right next to it
