Some streamers are entertaining. Others just shout a lot and have nothing interesting to comment on.
The stream was interesting because many of TFP devs were present answering questions.
It was like watching a "HACKER PLAY" & he was a NOOB playing on an XBOX.
I thought playtesting was supposed to be VANILLA to find bugs so we can get the Alpha released.
How giving early access to streamers to use Cheat Mode helps getting the game ready just baffles me.
I'm old fashionned like that... I know the niche market streamers, youtubers and general "Hey! Look Ma! I make moneyz off YewToob by spankin mi frienz upside the head!" kind of thing... it's how life is now. It replaces most "gag reels" or "comedy" shows on TV, seeing how both TV and internet are now pretty much the same.
I'll still read reviews of games - words expressed in a civilized and intelligent way still appeal more to me than the "HOLY $%?%?/% Dooooood! You see this %?/$&%$"? What the "/%$/% is this "/$%$%$/, Mothe$/"%$/$%??!?? This game RAWKS!$%/$%/!!!!". So yeah, not interested. :P
Streamers are worst kind of voyeurism or porn - you're supposed to be doing the real thing rather than watching someone else having all the fun and getting paid for it.
Not to mention lots and lots of idiots donating big money for these cucks. "Welcome to the army, bois!!!"
But... as always, to each their own.
Can't wait for the game. Dont wanna spoil it for myself
i work on the theory some people are interested in some games and will watch a video of other people playing it to see if it's actually their kind of game before purchasing it. I do.
for that reason i play 7 days to die live with it then archived into a series. i do not have monetisation active, i explain the game, explain the rules, explain my tactics and react to the gameplay realistically.
i watch lets play videos that are similar when i want to buy a game i'm not sure about. i'm not too keen on streaming though. i might want to replay the video in the future.
