Not that Fallout has been getting everything right lately, but that game has an excellent story and its does alot for the games. Curious when or if this game will get around to adding a story and how it will be done. Books in game or what?
Uhm, you didn't *pay attention* to the story in Fallout then. Because its horrible. Really bad. The only questline worse than the main one for plotholes and inconsitencies is the Instute one.
Its got some decent things going for it, but story isn't one of them.
That's something that is still in the projects if I can call it that. There's no definitive, only speculations really. Could range anywhere from a Nuclear Fallout combined with a T-virus likeness which emerged. I mean - seeing how Navezgane is the "real world" based setting, and there are wasteland and burnt biomes, the Nuclear story might hold ground, and zombies... well, those have had several different ways of being told.
True. This is indeed currently ingame and could be a basis on how to bring about the story to completion. But MM said it's not set in stone yet.
Now, as for the in-game part of telling the story, still undecided. However, with NPC's being planned, the introduction of quests and notes found randomly - that could be one of several ways to bring it about.
Time will tell.
If you look at the overall lore of the fallout world going back to the first game. It is really brilliant. Shame that some of the newer games have not used the lore properly.
Kickstarter goals include a story mode. So that is not likely to happen.
That said it is wide open now, all we know is it is some time in the future, where WW3 has already happened, and that we are in AZ at this point.
*nods knowingly*
It all started with a mother named Darla, who we now know as "decayed mother". Darla, AKA decayed mother, was married to a police officer. This police officer had a bit of weight to lose, so he decided to take the Shamway challenge. You see, the officer loved his wife, but he could not put up with her putting him down because of his weight. Not to mention, she started poppin too many painkillers, and her addiction was starting to show. Feeling unattractive, made it much easier for the officer to fall prey to any woman that would give him the time of day.
This is where Tammy comes in. Tammy was a good looking gal. Supple white skin, and long dark hair, drew many looks her way. However, the officer was the only man whom she noticed not making such a big deal about it. It was then, that she really took to the officer. He was always kind, and very polite. Over the next few weeks, a spark blossomed between Tammy and the officer. Tammy and the officer shared many lunches together at their local Shamway, and it was just a matter of time before the officer was invited to Tammy's home.
While at Tammy's house, things began to heat up between her and the officer, and well, let us just say things took their course. Meanwhile, Tammy had a football creeper, who had a crush on Tammy; Chad. However, Tammy did not care for Chad, as he was a typical a**hole jock. Anyhow, as Chad rounded the corner to Tammy's house, he hear what appeared to sound like someone screaming. Wouldn't you know it, it was Tammy! At first Chad thought tammy might be in trouble; however, the screams did not sound like frightfull screams. Chad got the hint real quick, and spent no time in running around town to spread the gossip.
Before you know, the officer was in hot water with his wife, and as for Tammy, she became known as "the screamer". It was tough times all around, with nuclear war being threatened from North Korea, and to top it off, the officer was no longer allowed to go to Shamway. All his sandwiches would be made at home, from his wife. Weeks later, the gossip was just too painfull for Darla, and she needed to do something about it. Darla gave her friend a call, who is the local nurse in town, and asked for a personal favor. After a few minutes on the phone, and a few days later, Darla had a plan.
The officer came home during his shift for lunch, and found it confusing that his wife was in a joyous mood. With lunch prepared on the table as usual, Darla engaged in small talk with the officer until he left. Little did the officer know, Darla had recieved a rare viral strain from her nurse friend via a moldy piece of bread. Darla was told that within a few weeks, her husband will feel the ill effects of this strain, and die an unsuspecting death. On the same token, little did Darla know, the officer was still seeing Tammy.
Speeding, to catch Tammy for the last 10 minutes of his lunch, the officer met with Tammy behind Shamway. After a few moments of greeting each other with passionate kisses, Tammy informed the officer she could no longer see him. It truly broke the officers heart; however, he asked who she had left him for. Tammy said it was Steve, at Shamway. The skater punk? The officer exclaimed. Tammy hung her head, and began to sob. The officer, feeling terrible about the whole situation, began to cough. At first it was a light cough, but it slowly crept its way into a full blown hurling cough. The officer coughed so hard that he threw up, and tammy ran inside to get help. By the time Tammy came out, the officer was looking flushed. Looking at Steve, with a mop in his hands, the officer insisted it was just his nerves, and left.
So there you have it, folks. As we can tell, Steve cleaned that mess up, and landed Tammy. But to what end? Because Steve was a punk, he never practiced good hygiene. Steve continued to make sandwhiches that day, at Shamway, an unknowingly, help spread the unknown virus that wiped out Perishton. Within months, nuclear missiles finally made it over from North Korea; however, it was for naught, as the damage was already done.
To this day, you will still find spoiled sanwiches, which serve as a reminder...
...Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
at least that's what I gathered from it :)
Nah, some of us appear to be immune .....so that CAN'T be it lol
The player character has to fight back against the zombie hordes and alien clean up crew ships and humans that helped them.
They of course came to earth for gold and other resources and there are mining bases spread around that the player can eventually attack in a vain effort to fight back.
The aliens use air ship technology to save fuel and upkeep costs and flight time so in the first DLC are buildable air ships made available as well as other cool stuff like trains, Samurai swords, mechs, robots and many other cool things.
The entire story is explained in this video.

I went way off the rails here, :) but a cool story would be great and some great DLC.
