If you built the bike, then you'd know you need the headlight to make the minibike handlebars, thus my question, as you seem to have no idea what they're for.
"seem to have no idea what they're for"...right cuz I found the handlebars which were obviously complete with light. The handlebars didn't come with an explanation about the light. It still doesn't explain your ignorant suggestion.
You probably want to keep an eye on the durability as dropped minibike parts are often pretty crappy levels. When they get to less than 40%.... they often fall apart quickly... often at the worse possible time.
With a workbench and forge its not hard to build new ones. Also the better the engine, the faster it will go. If you have a mining helmet, you really don't need to turn the headlights on, and run down your battery.
The better engine the faster it will go and the better the fuel economy as well. Better engines should use less fuel for the same distance as crappyer ones. I usually like 300 or more quality engines because the speed and amount of fuel they use is much better at that stage. Sub 100 and you might be better off walking but 250ish and above and it's worth using.
You have to be in the crafting station for that to work
So if you hit show recipes while not being in a station, it will only show you what you can make from it by hand. If you are in the workbench it will show you recipes that will craft, in the workbench, same with the forge and so on
If you are outside of a station you can type in a recipe name and find anything and it will tell you what station it requires if any. But if you are hitting the show recipes button on a specific item, it only shows you what you can make "at this moment" based on what station you are in (or not)
So in reference to the headlight, its not obvious until you go to the workbench and it shows you the other things it can be made into by hitting show recipes
Otherwise, you'd need to know the name of the recipe to search in in the search bar
So how did you miss the icon for the assembled handle bars/front forks having a headlight on it then??
