Transfer Saved Game Files
Hi guys,
I have a new computer. My old computer has my gaved game world (its a private, only me and my friend play).

I know theres a way to copy the saved game file from my old computer (i have my harddrive) and paste it into the slot of this game file on my new computer.

Can someone please give me detailed steps to make this happen?? I have my harddrive on an external thing so i can plug it into my computer and have direct access to it on my new computer, real time. Thank you. I will be very grateful

just plug in the hard drive, bring up one file window of your hard drive and one file window of the external one. in both hard drives, locate the files for 7DTD, it will be in program files>steam>steamapps>common> 7 Days To Die>Data>Worlds and it should be in there, im not sure if data for servers is somewhere else but you can look around if its not in there, and then bring that file over to the same folder on your new hard drive, obiously after 7dtd is installed and those files exist.

Go to your search bar and look up %appdata% > 7days > saves, find you save in there. Sace it to your external and just move it over. Put it back into the same file on the new pc.

Not sure if 7days have a cloud you can save it on,

So, I took a screen shot but Steam will not let me attach it for some reason. But, heres is what happened. I did exactly what you said. However, I did notice that the file size for all the things under WORLDS were exactly the same on each folder...but i did it anyways. Nothing happened. Any idea why? :(

When I open folders, and select my old hardrive, I can search in the right hand corner. I typed in %appdata%...and a BUNCH of mumbo Jumbo showed up...like...just gibberish. Endless files that begin with %appdata% apparenetly

UPDATE on your method. Ok so I was actually able to pull up exactly what you said on THIS PC. However, I cannot get there on my external harddrive for some bloody reason...maybe this gives you a little more to go off of.

For anyone else who stumbles on this topic and is trying to copy their save games:

When you launch the game from steam library, it asks if you want to show the game launcher

Start the launcher, not the game. Switch to the tools tab

You can now open game folder or open savegame folder directly, no searching through file explorer or using search box to find them

Or if you need a video, here's how to transfer a character to a new world:

It's indirectly related, she shows you how to find the files at which point you can copy or restart whatever as you wish

This should be the top answer for any recent version of 7DTD.
