HDR
Anyone have good results with HDR? it seems washed out to me whether I use ingame hdr or special-k. wondering if it's a problem on my end somehow or if the hdr implementation just isn't that good
but yeah I've done the hdr calibration and it looks good in other games like Lies of P and RE2

I'm running it on a C2, not the most impressive HDR but it looks fine.

im on a c3 and my HDR icon that appears at the top right when a game has HDR usually pops up. and it's not happening for me or showing any difference. do you think you might know what the deal is?
Why would the HDR icon appear?
Windows is in HDR at all times, irrespective of whether a game is running or not.

And if you're running the desktop in SDR, that's really not a good idea. HDR monitors and TVs tend not to respect Rec 709 color gamut in SDR, and the only way you're going to get a correct image is if you run them in HDR and let Windows do color management for the display.

Anyone found a fix yet?

My screen is not HDR vesa certified, it run HDR well on other games though.

Whenever FF16 open, the screen significantly dimmer, even watching youtube, leading to washed out HDR in-game image.

I've tried playing in full-screen, borderless... vice versa.

Did you have trouble with Elden Ring or AC6?

No, I didn't. ER runs well.

After several attempts at calibrating and alt-tabbing, etc., I gave up and tried Special-K. Wow, I've never seen such brightness and contrast like that on my monitor.

Still, I want the vanilla, stock HDR experience of the game. Guess I have to wait for the next patches, if they're able to fix it anyway.

Have you accidentally got RTX HDR switched on?

Trying running the windows hdr calibrator. I personally like saturation at 50%, sdr brightness 100%. https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9n7f2sm5d1lr?launch=true&mode=full&hl=en-us&gl=us&ocid=bingwebsearch

Do you have a monitor that you have enable HDR directly on the set first?
