Difference Between This and the PSP Version

I remember playing Corpse Party on PSP years ago, never finished it. I was thinking of buying it here on Steam but the graphics seem completely different?

There seems to be a lot of different versions of this game, can someone explain what is different than the PSP version and how many versions out there generally?

This is the original while the PSP version is a remake that hasn't made it to PC yet. The story and game mostly play the same, but this version has less updated assets, no CGs and the original Indie actor audio.

There's actually more content in this than the PSP version, a slightly extended final chapter and extra bad endings / extra chapters.

That and it runs on modern PCs, which the original PC version did not do.

Oh that changes by chapter as well. Thing is this is the original Doujin production. So as the first few chapters sold, they made enough money for better art. XD

I just noticed that there is a mod that integrates PSP graphics/voice acting to this release. No reason to not buy it now.

This PC version is much better with the mod than without it. But even with the mod installed, it still leaves out lots of stuff.

And anyway, I heard the 3DS version is much better than every other version.

Having said that, I still recommend the PC version since it's the best one currently available for most people.

Correct, the 3DS version is the definitive version, with the most accurate sprites and overall graphics. This has actually been stated directly by people involved with the project. It also has pretty much all the content the game has ever offered.

There's always hopes they eventually port over the remake.

Or the part where seiko was found dead in the restroom. -.- ya I don’t think I like people who discriminate the aesthetics the developers made. It’s really rude to see so many so on board against a couple of artists.

What are you even talking about? You realize this is the original PC version, not the remake right? There were no CGs in this version. How are they supposed to remove CGs in the remake that never existed until the remake?

This is the second indie-made version of the game by the original creators, Team GrisGris.
(The reason why I say "second" is that they also originally made the NEC PC-9801 RPG Maker version of the game many many years ago in 1996, which was also an independent release.)

Nothing has been removed or censored in this version of the game aside from one cellphone ringtone that sounded a bit too close to a real one we would not have the rights to.

You are thinking of the handheld remake, "RepeatedFear" by MAGES./5pb, which is a different company, and is not the original creators', Team GrisGris', work as originally presented.
MAGES. replaced all of the CG, portraits, and all of the voice acting when they created their remake of the game, but this is BloodCovered as it originally was, before MAGES. ever touched it.

By the way, all of MAGES.' CG artwork from that version of the game can be unlocked in the gallery of the Steam version of Book of Shadows (which was made by MAGES.) by using a saved game from this game or the PSP version of RepeatedFear. I know this isn't much consolation, but logically, if we wanted to 'discriminate' or remove anything, we wouldn't keep it in other titles.

You just have to bear in mind that this version of the game is by a different company entirely.
I think the original indie artists and voice actors deserve to be seen too~
