New to the series, what game do I start with? Which ones are the remakes?

I'm not here to stir the pot. Just here to say this game was meant to be played on a psp and the expanded resolution and light touch ups make the game look bad. Like wayyyyy worse than on PSP but I also feel that's because all of the art work was made to be scrunched down into smaller resolutions so when you make those same pictures bigger it looks almost unfinished. Seriously try it on a hand held device if you can. I promise you it'll be worth your time....
