So, I'm a huge fan of this series, and I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I don't know anywhere else.

Is there any way of getting the older, pre-Trails, LoH games? Like the Gagharv trilogy. So far my searches for them haven't really gotten anywhere (e.g. they aren't sold on Falcom's website) and I was wondering if anyone here knew a place to buy them.

Legal places only, please. No piracy. If there really is no way of getting the older games, then that's fine. I just wanted to ask in case people knew was a place for buying them.

I don't think they have modern ports. People are selling some very expensive used copies on ebay and that though.

Thanks, and yeah, it's a shame. I've seen those ebay ones, some are like £200! I love this series, but I'm never gonna spend that much on a videogame lol. I'll probably just have to settle for watching a playthrough.

There have been PSP (I think) ports of the Garghav trilogy, but, in addition to being long oop and for an old console, they're also supposed to have a very garbled translation.

However, Geofront*, announced in January 2023 that they were working on a new translation of the first Garghav game; Legend of Heroes III: The White Witch.

No eta has been mentioned so far, nor a way to actually get the game itself, but, as I understand it, once they get close enough to completion, they intend to provide instructions on how to (legally) get it as well.

So this is good news for those who want to play the Garghav games, even if it is unclear how long it will take, or if they'll do the other two games as well.

DLsite [www.dlsite.com] sells them, note that these are only in Japanese and might not work on modern PCs. Geofront is currently working on English fan patches for Legend of Heroes III and Dinosaur Resurrection from Falcom's old catalog.

Also there are English PSP versions of the Gagharv trilogy, but they are remakes with a different combat system and I have heard only bad things about the quality of those localisations. Geofront is working on a fan translation for the version of The Legend of Heroes III: The White Witch that is available on DLsite and not the PSP version.

Sounds interesting. I heard people talking about Geofront in relation to Trails from Zero and I got confused because I only knew it as the in-game shop lol.

Thanks, they look interesting, and they're very cheap. I'll keep it in mind as an option.
