I've been wondering,do you guys plan on translating the game in other languages soon?
Chroma Squad (v1.03) Faux Newgame+
[Removed until further notice]
Features of this faux Newgame+:
*Endgame cheat equipment & mecha.
*Night Cycles for all.
Warning: This was built for v1.03, GOG edition. Achievement issues and bugs might arise. Night Cycles do not play nice with the Assist Ranger, and some tinkering with skill setup might be required to get what you want.
Didn't unlock skills or add materials, since it seems the game doesn't play nice with out-of-season materials, and simply defaults to the first skill of each tier.
I figured that it would be helpful, in the sense that figuring out various aspects of a customized NG+ would be a pain. Certainly took me a while to get stuff working without busting the game in some way or another.
Would it be acceptable if I passworded the zipfile, and embed the password in the warning section?
We have people that doesn't quite understand about pc's playing Chroma Squad and if they start downloading bad things at the forum I would be pretty much sad about it. I'm not saying you did something bad nor your file was bad. I just want to encourage people to edit their own instead of sharing. Nothing personal! (:
If whoever tries to edit the values the way I did then it's a hit, ng+ is available. But thank you for your effort.
1- I am preparing a save file with unique things, like the Tutorial suits and Catnigiri as one of the actors. I would love to use Kenji or Tammy in my team, or even other backers, but my attempts have only ended in failure. Am I wrong to think you guys have coded more lines like "Resume_CatNigiri" for the other chars we played during the game (and if I am right, can I have it BD)?
2- Since I mentioned it, using CatNigiri or the Tutorial Suit (The Super Ranger Suit) is possible, but it meets a TON of lag, since it misses a lot of animations. Not as fun as it sounds, but I like to play differently.
(Also, the Tutorial Suit have ZERO bonus, and while CatNigiri cost 0$ salary, it have +10 recharge and -30% health. So, besides the sprites, none of this is worth at all)
3- I tried to get a squad with only one role (assault, for example), but the game froze at the cutscenes. What happens is that the game REMOVES duplicated roles in a save file; so, if I place the Lead as Assault, as soon as the game reaches the Assault, it removes the actor from the scene completely.
4- We can have squads entirely made of the same actor. Alien, robots and beavers are the best options for those, just saying! Glitch free as far as I played!
5- The color system for the suits is far more rich than you allow us! We can pick different shades of colors, and that would be great to have in game, but for now we can settle with this editor. The only thing is that I am struggling to understand how the shading is calculated; it says its a RGBA scale, but the maximun number is 1.000. Is that a percent scale?
And last: +5 zoeira? Can we or will we have Hugo Vaz (and all developers) as an actor option in the future? Or should I search deeper in this file.
Also, everyone reading this take note: NOTHING mentioned here is of concern of the developers, since we are pushing the game beyond of what it was meant to be used - so, we should not expect or demand anything from then in this subject.
1) You can’t set kenji/tammy/catnigiri into your team because they do not have all the sprites and core scripts actors do. We wanted to add them as playable characters in the future but we’ll still see how to do it without “breaking” the story. “Resume_CatNigiri” was a workaround for some implementation. The tutorial suits doesn’t have stats at all, the tutorial minions have really really low stats and that’s why no one should have a problem by not having stats at all.
2) Unfortunately, when the game misses the animation it has a timeout for the game to proceed. The timeout is the lagging issue you said. So, yeah, the game can’t be fun played that way.
3) You can’t get a squad using the same role because the story calls for other roles. The story has scripts that put specific roles into the scene and remove specific roles from the scene. If they can’t be found, the game will likely to freeze or break or etc.
4) If you are using the editor then yes, you may have a group using the same actor/actress without a single problem at all. The only issue you’ll face is to know which one is which before using the “chromatize” since they would be visually the same.
5) The color system may have more options but we have chose some of the best colours. We know that some maps use specific colours that might drive the player crazy for mixing up characters/maps. And we also know that depending how dark is the colour, it would neutralize the amount of work our artists had by placing those pixels in their armor/helmets/clothes. We have two specific colours that translates into 2 colours based on the color you’ve chosen.
We probably won’t have any dev character to be played since we have many more people nowadays, that's why we opted for the npc-kind of version for this time. You can see each one of us sitting/standing at Dr. Mi Ah’s studio (tutorial scene). By the way, I’m the one sitting at the very left. (:
+5 zoeira is just a placeholder for description, there's no real character for Hugo Vaz (one of our artists/directors).
Are you just refering to the shading, or is it something else? Because this got me curious...
The shader translates 2 pure colours (I believe it's pure red and "pure" pink) to 2 colours based on the colour you choose.
