Is it possible to drop items?

I have Amnesia sitting there in giant bold letters in the bottom right of the screen and well it's annoying and I don't want to use it.

nope, just don't use it and wait to find another pill.

Try left Ctrl. I've not actually tried it yet 'cause I keep forgetting, but that's meant to drop all your items.

Left Ctrl swaps pills if you can carry more than one. You can't drop your items

Left Ctrl swaps pills if you can carry more than one. You can't drop your items

You can drop items, hold Left CTRL for a few secs on keyboard or hold RT if you're on a 360 pad.

Also for those who are just learning about this it also works for trinkets too. Except the Tick trinket for obvious reasons.

...and if you are holding a trinket AND a consumable (i.e. a pill/card) it will drop both

If CTRL doesn't work, check your controls in options.
