The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Why do people complain about difficulty in repentance?
Now maybe its cause I downloaded repentance first and have only a couple hours in afterbirth+, or maybe its cause I dont like holding R for 40 mins to get an adjacent item room (seriously, wheres the fun in that?), but I dont find repentance that hard at all? Dont get me wrong its not easy, far from it. But I dont get what people mean when they mention "artificial difficulty" and ♥♥♥♥ like that, curses are meant to spice it up when it gets boring, the only curse I would say I dont enjoy would be the unknown, but thats really only cause I like playing samson and not knowing if its okay to slit my wrists or not is a bit frustrating. and the alt path has some actually difficult things you have to do. How is taking 1 hit before death to grab a item in a mirror world artificial difficulty? I would bet my life dark souls would do something similar if it worked well there. In fact speaking of, being chased by a person after grabbing an item is something Im almost certain its done, and you all rave about how fair and fun that game is, so why is it not fair when isaac does it? Is it cause its bad? or cause you actually need to use your brain when doing things? "wahhhhhh moms knife isint in my adjacent item room!!!!11!! >:((((( and devil deals suck now wahhhhhhh" just play afterbirth+ if you just cant live without an adjacent item room that has moms knife in it. All the new bosses are mostly fair and well designed, the new areas are pretty fun and cool, its almost like this was from a fan made mod that has had about 6 years to improve since, oh it is? Cool. Theres a Snapple cap fact to say to your body pillow at dinner time with your mom. And its not like angel rooms still suck, they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wonderful, why have a lame laser beam with a lame sprite when you could have a cool beam with a beautiful sprite? The new characters are interesting to say the least, and the tainted characters are a wonderful addition, theres little things wrong with repentance, the game has simply improved, and you people dont like it cause you're afraid of mixing and matching as well as swapping things around every now and then, wheres the fun in the game or even life in general if you dont swap it up every now and then? Theres no fun to be had in repentance if you dont change, stop going for devil deals, stop holding R like a brain dead ♥♥♥♥♥♥ who thinks nothing cause they dont have a brain for it. Have fun with it, experiment, ♥♥♥♥ around, end your relationship with satan, start anew with angels. Listen to the Dogma OST at least, uninstall those idiotic mods that make the game "better" by returning it to when isaac was objectively at its worst.

TL;DR if you prefer afterbirth+ over repentance because of easier difficulty, get gud, suck it up, and play repentance

I take it you haven't tried tainted jacob.
maybe you need to get better at the game and actually unlock the difficult stuff before you complain about other people complaining about difficulty.

but yes Repentance is vastly superior to afterbirth+

Caz people thought it was a easy roguelike, that in itself is an oxymoron and are crying like babies

The op items got needed nurffs, the influx of items made said op items and combat harder to get, hard mode got hard (mode shot speed is now faster on hard mode), the new bosses cant n cheese as hard and are very much a bullet bell at times, the new end bosses are real hard and are massive billet sponges/ bullet hells (like a real roguelike should be)

People also cry over learning new stuff, like items, combos, bosses, mobs, ect

Some things are a bit bad tho, like j&e and some of the t characters

oh yes j&e
@op imagine how bad it would be in your favourite game dark souls if you had to control 2 separate characters of yourself simultaneously with the same controls, and they'd get split up and get hit by things you can't humanly dodge because you can't keep track of both characters and keep them both safe when they mimic each others movements (yes you can hold one still and control the other but it'll get hit by stray bullets too much and then they'll both be too far apart to try and dodge with both)
oh and btw if 1 dies they both die!

how many bullet hell games can you think of that require you to control 2 separate split uppable characters simultaneously? and why do you think there isn't that many? could it be that people won't find that fun at all? or do people just need to git gud and grow a 2nd brain but even that won't help because both characters are binded to the SAME CONTROLS so they can't be controllable separately. now can you start to see why artificial difficulty is a term being used?

some people don't like games for their difficulty?, have you heard of such a thing as fun?
But I dont get what people mean when they mention "artificial difficulty" and ♥♥♥♥ like that
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shot speed, and even worse rng. (Standard rooms with a difficulty of "1" having a reduced chance of appearing, and hearts being 33% less likely to drop after completing a room.)

you are literally arguing with yourself

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shot speed

Amen to that! I don't mind some difficulty, but when the game gets to hard it's just not that fun to me anymore and the shot speed up on hard can suck my balls fr.
Constantly responding very fast to stuff really stresses me out and the more stressed I get, the harder it get's to concentrate.
I wouldn't really mind it and just ignore hard mode, but you have to do everything in hard mode to unlock every item in the game, so...

It's not hard, It's just random.
You win some, you lose some.

Generally, the sense of difficulty comes from very specific situations. Jacob and Esau are very awkward to control for alot of people (Myself included), characters like Tainted Jacob and Tainted Lost can end up in brutal sudden-death situations very quickly thanks to their "No mantle Lost" gimmick and there's stuff here like Tainted Eden and some of the challenges that are literally just a roulette wheel, where you just kinda have to cross your fingers and get lucky. Hard mode is also very jacked up compared to how it used to be in Afterbirth+.

If you ask me though, I think the real thing here is that people are getting a grim reminder of what getting completion marks was like. To alot of people, they either were satisfied with the unlocks they had, never paid much mind to it or were sitting on their 1.000.000% files for years before this. It's jarring to go back to playing Isaac for completions. You throw shade at people that spam R, but honestly, I can understand the mentality. When someone's playing for achievements, they don't wanna ♥♥♥♥ around. They have a checklist and it's the thing standing between them and going back to playing how you want to, so they wanna ensure that the run isn't a waste of time.

I think that last part is where alot of the frustrations come from. People that like Isaac tend to find their own preferred way to play from certain characters to certain unique self-imposed challenges and that sense of feeling incomplete is getting in the way of that. I've felt it too. While it has been nice and all to go around and see all the new content and test out all the new characters, I really just kinda wanna get back to doing random streaks, because that's what I like doing. I've gotten a little fatigued of that sense of having to grind all the characters' completion marks, but anytime I take a break from playing like that, I feel like I'm not being productive enough.

You've already created the same thread and we've already explained why you're a moron. Why did you do it again?
