maybe you need to get better at the game and actually unlock the difficult stuff before you complain about other people complaining about difficulty.
but yes Repentance is vastly superior to afterbirth+
The op items got needed nurffs, the influx of items made said op items and combat harder to get, hard mode got hard (mode shot speed is now faster on hard mode), the new bosses cant n cheese as hard and are very much a bullet bell at times, the new end bosses are real hard and are massive billet sponges/ bullet hells (like a real roguelike should be)
People also cry over learning new stuff, like items, combos, bosses, mobs, ect
Some things are a bit bad tho, like j&e and some of the t characters
@op imagine how bad it would be in your favourite game dark souls if you had to control 2 separate characters of yourself simultaneously with the same controls, and they'd get split up and get hit by things you can't humanly dodge because you can't keep track of both characters and keep them both safe when they mimic each others movements (yes you can hold one still and control the other but it'll get hit by stray bullets too much and then they'll both be too far apart to try and dodge with both)
oh and btw if 1 dies they both die!
how many bullet hell games can you think of that require you to control 2 separate split uppable characters simultaneously? and why do you think there isn't that many? could it be that people won't find that fun at all? or do people just need to git gud and grow a 2nd brain but even that won't help because both characters are binded to the SAME CONTROLS so they can't be controllable separately. now can you start to see why artificial difficulty is a term being used?
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shot speed, and even worse rng. (Standard rooms with a difficulty of "1" having a reduced chance of appearing, and hearts being 33% less likely to drop after completing a room.)
Amen to that! I don't mind some difficulty, but when the game gets to hard it's just not that fun to me anymore and the shot speed up on hard can suck my balls fr.
Constantly responding very fast to stuff really stresses me out and the more stressed I get, the harder it get's to concentrate.
I wouldn't really mind it and just ignore hard mode, but you have to do everything in hard mode to unlock every item in the game, so...
You win some, you lose some.
If you ask me though, I think the real thing here is that people are getting a grim reminder of what getting completion marks was like. To alot of people, they either were satisfied with the unlocks they had, never paid much mind to it or were sitting on their 1.000.000% files for years before this. It's jarring to go back to playing Isaac for completions. You throw shade at people that spam R, but honestly, I can understand the mentality. When someone's playing for achievements, they don't wanna ♥♥♥♥ around. They have a checklist and it's the thing standing between them and going back to playing how you want to, so they wanna ensure that the run isn't a waste of time.
I think that last part is where alot of the frustrations come from. People that like Isaac tend to find their own preferred way to play from certain characters to certain unique self-imposed challenges and that sense of feeling incomplete is getting in the way of that. I've felt it too. While it has been nice and all to go around and see all the new content and test out all the new characters, I really just kinda wanna get back to doing random streaks, because that's what I like doing. I've gotten a little fatigued of that sense of having to grind all the characters' completion marks, but anytime I take a break from playing like that, I feel like I'm not being productive enough.
