Blockland wont shutdown

After I exit the game steam shows that I'm still playing and when I click stop it says stopping but doesn't actually stop it from running. Any clues as to why?

I think I had that happen once or twice... I don't remember what caused it unless it was broken/incompatible Add-Ons, but you should be able to End Task from your Task Manager if it is frozen or not responding.

A likely reason for it not shutting down is that Blockland started a new process its self (either your browser or something else, and Steam counts that as part of Blockland's process), try shutting down programs that Blockland may have started. Internet Explorer and your browser could be keeping it open

sometimes it's a steam issue. happens to ALL steam games, but it's quite rare.
