Mass Effect 2 (2010)

I didn't get Paragon or Renegade Choices for Tali mission
I get to end of the trial and only get the normal choice options. Paragon and Renegade was greyed out, so I choose to turn in the evidence and now I get the feeling that Tali romance aint happening! The option not to turn in the evidence would of resulted in exile, I didn't choose that cause it seems it would of been a waste of time to go through that entire mission, find evidence and not use it. Seem's she would of been exiled whether we conpleted that mission or not.

So this is now two missions, Samara and Tali, were I didn't get to choose Paragon or Renegade. Every other part of the game I get the red and blue option. How is the game determining when and where I can choose Paragon or Renegade?

You don't have enough Paragon or Renegade points to pick the Charm or Intimidate option to talk down the Admirals. There is one other way to win the quest, which is to rally the crowd, which is only available if you sent Veetor back with the Quarians on Freedom's Progress, and prevent Kal'Reegar from dying on Haestrom.

Shepard's unique class skill does offer boosts to your Paragon and Renegade score, which can boost your score to handle the harder dialog checks. If you imported a character from ME1 with a high Paragon or Renegade score you also get a boost to your ME2 Paragon and Renegade score.

Heartless bastid. Betraying Tali.
Sadly unlike ME1, you can't be a Paragade (mostly Paragon, less Renegade) or Renegon (mostly Renegade, less Paragon) in ME2, you have to choose one or the other and stick with it. My advice is to do Tali and Samara's loyalty missions last (preferably BEFORE you get Legion to avoid losing crew mates after the Collectors attack the Normandy again) when you have your scores at max level. The best way to do this is use the "Retrain Powers" option in the lab on the Normandy and max out your class specialization and select the option that increases your Paragon/Renegade points by 100%. This ensures you have a high score on either one you choose. After doing that you can stick with the high points or use Retrain Powers again to go back to your previous selection. A bit of a task I know but this has actually helped me with the Charm choices in Tali and Samara's loyalty missions. Kinda stupid to see someone as strong willed as Shepard fall to some murder loving asari...

Turning in the evidence is the mission failure state. Tali becomes traumitized. Will probably die in suicide mission.

It's kinda wrong that doing the right thing (revealing the truth) qualifies as a failure.

That's problem because its not the right thing at all in that situation.

Yeah, the main goal in loyalty missions is to support your squadmate's decision and go along with it. Exceptions are where you have high enough paragon/renegade points so you can do a mission your way and still satisfy them. In Tali's case, she wanted to keep her father's reputation good and didn't care whether she would be exiled or not. You revealed the evidence and therefore betrayed Tali and that's why it's a failure. But if she was exiled, she would be grateful that you didn't reveal the truth and your chances with her would be good.
