Mass Effect 2 (2010)

How much do the DLCs cost? Seriously?
So I bought the Mass Effect Trilogy bundle when it was 50% off a while ago, but for some reason it doesn't contain all of the DLCs as bundles like this usually do... I mean, that is why you buy them, don't you? Anyways, I wouldn't mind paying for these DLCs if there was a sale for them, but you can only buy them with these stupid "Bioware points" or whatever, and you need so much of them! You need 6480 points to unlock all the DLC that adds more content to the game that isn't just customisation! That many points would cost you 80€! That is a ridiculous price! I mean, I know it's extra content, and I would pay for it if it was lower, but why does it cost so much? And if you want to have all the DLC that would cost you 110€! Of course, this is not counting the original price of the game, which is, without the discount 40€. So they want you to pay for a bundle of a what, an 8 year old game, a 9 year old game and a 4 year old game, and pay 150€ for the full experience. Just a recent example, I think Battlefront 2 costs around 120€ with the season pass...
I wanted to replay this amazing trilogy on PC with the DLCs that I didn't have the chance to play before, but after seeing how much these DLCs actually cost, I think I'm better off buying a new GPU or something... sorry about the rant, I just don't understand why it's so expensive... is there a way to go around that? Did I miss something here? Would refunding the trilogy bundle and buying the deluxe edition be worth it more? Do the deluxe editions contain ALL of the DLCs? If not, there is not much point in buying them...

Umm the digital deluxe edition on steam is only 29.99 so what's the big deal?

Yes, but that only contains useless stuff like a few weapons, some more customisation and the soundtrack. If you want the full experience, you have to buy the game on Origin, and all the DLC are available there... the problem is that they are expensive as hell, especially for such an old game.

Hmm ok, i was misguided then, i thought it included the DLC

I know that, but I bought it before it was free, but it's the version without any of the DLCs anyways, so it's not much use for me. I already played through the game before, just not the DLCs.. wanted to do that for some time now, but not for 110€ :P
£27/$33/€32 for all the ME2 dlc. The game is currently free on Origin.

Yep, that seems accurate... but there is DLC for ME3 too, which is 50€. 32€ I would pay... but why 50€? Plus the game itself as well, but I already have that... and why isn't there a discount for the DLCs so they are more affordable? There was a discount for the standard edition of the 3 ME games, but not the DLC... maybe I'm just too spoiled by Steam, because it's standard practice here, but I don't know... either way, it's not really working for EA, because on Steam you tend to spend more money because of the sales, but on Origin I don't want to spend money because the lack of sales... I don't even want to buy any games there, just Mass Effect :D
I've not factored in the dlc for 3 as I don't have any yet. I'm waiting till I finish 1 and 2 again. I don't think Bioware/EA have ever or will discount the dlc as they are still popular sellers.

Those DLC were never on sale but instead those Bioware Points were already more then twice times on sale over the last couple of months ( -50% discount and -25% discount Code on Origin that worked too on those Bioware Points).

Just make sure the next time you Guys see an Sale on Origin with an Promo Code to check out if those Codes are working too on those Bioware Points.

Electronic Arts already stated more then once that there will be never a Full Complete Edition with all the DLC on Steam or Origin since it does not sell enough Units nowadays and seeing that now Mass Effect 2 is for Free I would go as far as to say that the word Never wasn't just put easy up by EA back then but that they mented what they said.

Well, it's great to know that those points get a discount. I thought they just put that there, instead of making it possible to directly pay for the DLCs with your credit card so they can avoid putting the DLCs on sale... I guess I can wait for the DLCs to have a more reasonable price then... it's not like the game is going anywhere anyways, right?

Nobody is forcing anyone to get those DLC at all. Those are complete optional also some are totally worth it to get in my eyes.

A bit more extra Information about those DLC:

There was never an direct way of buying any Mass Effect 2 DLC on Steam. Not when the Game launched back then and not after the first DLC was released.

When the Game launched back in 2007 you had to link your Game to the Bioware Webpage ( http://social.bioware.com/page/me2-dlc ) where you could link your Steam/XBox 360 Account and then obtain those Files for your Client and then get an Installer for the Extra Content.

Afterwards you had to log in the Game to the Cerberus Network ( Back then your Bioware Network Account, nowadays Origin) and then the Game would verify those installed DLC Packs and let you use those.

And pirate ME3 unless you're going to play Multiplayer. Better spend money on Mass Effect Novel, Comic or other franchise.

How about Mass Effect figure, posters or make your own Mass Effect weapon replica?
