No, you play as your own character which you create at the beginning of the game. It has no name.

Sanrio characters, including Hello Kitty, are NPCs that can follow you around if you ask them to (when they’re available).

Yes Kuromi is in it and she can be a companion, plus she sells owns her own potion shop at a certain part of the game.

No, you just run around begging to be their friend through presents and running errands for them only to always be reminded you will never be part of their circle, is like a mean girl simulator

What?! lol The whole point of the game is Friendship - doing things together and for each other. Giving and receiving gifts - you build friendships with the characters. No one is mean and no bad happens in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. You cannot fall and hurt yourself, you cannot die. Nothing attacks you....fish, swim, climb, gather, gift, decorate, build friendships.

This is a funny game about cute animals on an island, not highschool
