Shimmering Pearl

Okay, I have enjoyed the game so far but this is getting silly.

I have:

- Read the stone thingy
- Been told to look for the pearl in the alcove (NW of pirate camp)
- Picked every single clam and shell on the map (incl. in the alcove)
- Looked for the pearl at all the vendors (in case I accidentally sold it, if that is even possible)

I have completed all the other tasks, in the quest, and all I am missing is this damn pearl. When I talk to the woman, who gave the quest, she only offers to teach and sell me stuff; no quest-related options.

Now, as soon as I got the quest I started gathering, and opening, the clams and shells. After having gathered all of them I went back to the quest-giver, at which point she told me to look in the alcove. This is the only thing that I can think of, for why this is not working for me... Do you have to be told BEFORE picking up the clams/shells, for the quest to work?

There are two discussions about this damn pearl, but neither of them helped me.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I read the stone and went right away for the quest. Only picked the ones marked on the map and got it right after. Are you sure you clicked on the right shells in the inventory?!

I never marked the quest. When I mark it now I do not get any markers. It just says that I need to find a "shimmering pearl".

Yes, I remember being a little confused because I simply couldn't find them in the first place. Then realised that among the multiple other active quest I had, one was about the shimmering pearl... So it is called a shimmering pearl in the inventory and you can't actually sell it.

Here's the trick Its not actually gotten from a 'Clam.' Its gotten from one of the 'Shells' you pick up at the marked location.

I opened up an island worth of clams before I finally realized I was clicking on the wrong things.

I have opened all the clams AND shells that I can find. No pearl. I have been to the cove numerous times, looked in every single nook and cranny, nothing.

Well, if you opened up all 20 shells and found no pearl then it must be bug. You gonna have to join Guardians or Hunters :(

Ran into this issue myself and was worried I wouldn't be able to pass the wall later for general story purposes. Like Gauner said though, it's a bug that screws you out of the Pirates/Voodoo faction but you're still good to go if you go with the other factions.

Do this, collect all shells, save your game, open them, if the shimmering pearl doen't turn-up load and try again.
In my case, I had opened several shells before I got the quest so I only had 13 shells available, after a few reloads I got the pearl.

Too late for that -- I am not throwing away hours of play just to get a pearl. The Voodoo faction will just have to wait for another play-through. Mages, here I come.

I just can't believe it's happening.
Mark the quest in the log, open the map, check if you perhaps missed to pick a shell that contains the special pearl.
Please take pics with F12 (of marked quest and on the map after that and on inventory WITHOUT special shells since you've opened them all).
Only that way we can have a proof for devs.

Are you sure it's too late for that? With the rate this game auto-saves for me, I have about 30 auto saves lying around.

I'm having this issue too. Picked up every marked item, opened them all and recieved no shimmering pearl. Didn't realise it was a bug until a good while later so I can't simply reload now :(

Shimmering Pearl
Pick up the clam shells in the appointed bay. Open inventory and double click on the clam shell entry in the Loot Collection. You will get the response "empty" or a pearl, one of which is the shimmering pearl. This is how I found it. Don't for get the shells also.

We are aware of that, it is the fact that the shells weren't giving out the pearl that was the problem :)
