1) Can I just plug it right back in to repower the defenses and fight the baddies off?
2) Will this cycle endlessly repeat whenever I unplug the crystal or just the first time on the level?
1.Unpower all rooms thats in the opposite direktion from the exit
2.power as many rooms close too the path between the crystal and the exit
3. Give your crystal carying hero a waypoint to the exit
4. Win
I have found it as simple as that in my games, the enemies that spawn behind you rarely catch up with the carrier anyway.
@Lord Gek, i don't think you can plug it in again, its either the exit or death. But im not sure.
1) You can plug back in (Though you don't need to repower defenses straight away, defenses only go unpowered when you walk through the entire room with the crystal and they're no longer connected to the crystal by a string of powered rooms)
If that makes sense
2) The cycle endlessly repeats.
2) Powered up rooms don't spawn anything, consider that for the room your gonna carry to. Power down any not needed room and power up the path of rooms leading to the next floor.
3) You should have a team (1-3) that is equiped and leveled up(by using food at the character window, its a tiny icon each character window). This team is your guard, if needed keep them with your crystal-carry or keep them ahead to keep rooms clear. *I keep them ahead, for the majority*.
Tips:
- Having a character stand at module(industry/food) and having another character open a door gives you a small bonus to whatever module your standing at(it shows when you put a character on a module). Wit is what effects how much the increase is, and there is an icon to show you which character in that room has the highest when on a module.
- When starting the game, start with Industry, its important for building other modules immediatly and floor mechanics(traps, bonuses).
- Make sure to use your food to level your characters, leave enough for just a few heals on early floors.
- Equip when you get something nice. Buy what you can from shops before leaving the floor floor, its ok to sacrifice some rooms... but this is left up to you on how many rooms to sacrifice (you need 10gold to power each room).
- Try to open every door, even to rooms already revealed (you get food and industry even if its a door to the same room.
- Don't give monsters multiple directs to come at your crystal. Sometimes your crystal room will have multiple doors, don't open them all, stick to 1 direction. Normally you can get to the other side of some of the doors without opening it from inside the Crystal room.
Save these doors till everything is cleared, Monster waves only spawn when you revealed a new room.
Unpower rooms that are not on the way to the exit and create a "pathway" of turrets, even low damage ones, on the exact path to the exit. This will give the carrier some relief every step of the way. Save up some food, with enough you can actually just have the carrier blitz his way all the way to the end even if you deal no damage to enemies by spamming food heals on the carrier. You can even consider swapping your hero items around to provide as much speed and survivability as possible on the carrier, and as much damage as possible on the supporting heroes. Because rooms power down when you carry the crystal past them, the crystal blitz partially serves as a "hero power check", as you will be heavily reliant on the damage of your supporting heroes and the speed/tanking of your carrying hero to pass these parts of the game. Therefore, if this challenge seems statistically impossible for you, chances are you are being punished for not having enough food and therefore heroes that are too low level, weak, and without enough food heals to transport the crystal to the floor exit in a timely and safe manner. I have found that focusing more on food rather than industry early on, such as on floors 1 & 2 for now, and buying appropriate quality gear for heroes makes carrying the crystal out significantly easier than it was on my first few runs.
Also I usually end up giving the crystal to the fastest party member. Enemies can't harm them if they aren't in the same room! Then the rest of the party are stationed en route to the exit so the carrier can link up with them on the way.
