Rotating help please
On my project I have the outline of the square with one of the sides erased. I want the square to rotate having the axis in the middle of the sqaure. I also want the collision box to be current/live so while the square is rotating so is the collision box for it, as I want to be able to throw objects into it :) I have searched online but none of them met my specific needs, any help I will greatly appreciate as I have been wanting to make this game ever since I got into game developing :)
Thank you in advance :) :alwayschicken:

Go into your picture editor and make sure you set the hotspot to the center of the square, then either create up to 32 directions inside the picture editor or use the "angle" action to rotate the square. Eating fine collisions in the objects properties will bind its collision to a pixel by pixel shape where as unchecked will make collisions to the smallest collision box the rotated square can fit in.

"What do you mean by 32 directions inside picture editor?" Also when you mean eating fine collisions do you mean check the box for fine collisions? -thank you

eating was supposed to be seating, but my ipad autocorrected me, yea! Inside the picture editor you wll see what looks like a wheel with at least one arrow on it, this wheel can be with the slider below it set to 4,8,16, 32 directions, and then you can click on the black box at the end of the arrow and generate rotated directions.

could you plz tell me exactly how you would do it, even when I check the box for fine collision its not working

A IVI A could you be more specific as to what your looking for.

Thanks for taking your time to answer this. So I have the square outline with one of the side cut off for objects to go through, atm I have the mouse set so when ever I click the left mouse button I spawn the default active object but I have set the static movement to it, you know what, ill just make a video lol, b back in 30 min

OK I see what you are trying to do now, you are using physics movement which will either use a square shape, circle shape or first image shape with no indentations inside said shape, aka you can't have your bucket when using one object.

So in your example you need to divide your three sided square shape into three pieces, one for each side.

ohhhh ok than you very much, if I were to change it to a cirlce could you please tell me how? Would I just need to piece the arcs of the cirlce togeather?

just note when using the physics movements all collisions will be solid shapes, you can have any convexed areas.

"then either create 32 directions inside the pcoture editor" how do you do that exactly?

Click on the compass where one black dot is being pointed at, then right click!

Use the slider below it to create up to 32 directions.
