Active Direct Show and MP4s
Been looking around for information on this and haven't had much luck yet and the Steam Forums haven't been loading properly for days now so I'm going to take advantage of it while it works ha. Anyhow I'm trying to play a video in MP4 format with an active direct show object on start of frame with a load action followed by a play action. I've had success with an mpeg file through the same method but I'm trying to keep the file size down without sacrificing too much quality. Basically the end goal is to have a clickable text/button object above the video while it loops. Any help is greatly appreciated, I'll continue looking around and if I find anything I'll post my solution and mark this post as solved. Thanks!

Yeah the video doesn't seem to be playing. Is there a certain format I should be using when I render the video? Thanks for the reply! :)

I may be 7 years late but AVI format works! :steamhappy:

Yup, if you need video cutscenes or something like that, encoding in AVI with XViD codec works.
