CD key

i lost the box with the CD key on it, but i don't want to get a new game. is there a way to get around this?

Nope.

Why ask here though, you don't even own the game on Steam. And with Steam you don't have to bother with keys at all. you just buy the game and that's it.

i have the game on cd including rush hour, its just the key i need

If you have the key, you can redeem it with origin for free, but other than that you'll have to buy it again digitally. It goes on sale here at Steam or at GOG a few times a year for about $5 USD. If you can wait, that's a pretty good price.

But whatever you do DO NOT BUY THE GAME FROM ORIGIN (redeeming CD key is ok). The version they sell in the Origin store is unpatched and unpatchable. It's been a whole big thing...

if you need to repurchase go to cdkey . com and buy the delux version for PC there, make sure the code is for worldwide, they have it really cheap, for example, this game on steam is R349 but on the cdkey site its R41. The site is also trust worthy, I have bought 6 games from them and 1 being a steam game because their cheap. Im only recommending you a site because you may have to repurchase the game if you cant find your key so its better to have a cheap option that pay full price

I'm pretty sure the original SC4 won't run on modern OS's, maybe if you have a older computer / OS or a virtual operating system you'll get lucky, but simply installing it on a PC from a disc and then clicking "play" will almost certainly not work.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe you'll find a way, but I went on a bender getting *all* my old games running on my modern PC including -but FAR from limited to- all infinity engine games, all quakes, all unreals, all C&C's, all age of empires, all ceasars, all dooms, witchaven, the neverhood, etc, etc... and the *only* game that I couldn't get running was Sim City 4.

Basically you'll need an older PC and / or OS or you'll just need to buy a digital version.
