offline Mode

Can Sim City 4 Deluxe be played in off line mode?
i am a ride along aircraft mechanic and find it difficult to fill my many flight hours with something to do other than sleep, so i look for games i can play in off line mode and then sync when i have internet access.

You can play this game in offline mode. It does not have any online features.

I'd recommend getting it on GoG too, they don't even require a client like Steam, just download, install, and you're good to go.

All Steam games tend to require an online connect the first time (after installation) that a game is played ... as this is when the run-time DLLs and the like are installed/linked-in-to-the-game.

After that, as long as you don't reinstall (and don't use cloud services for your saves), this game should play just fine in offline mode.

Ahh thank you for this suggestion. I've missed this game for years but I don't want to buy it again and give today's EA any money, and I definitely dont want any of that EA Play gargabe.
