A different Ellen Bug!
In the Intro, AM talks to all the guys but seems to skip straight past Ellen, simply stating something about a yellow box and then jumping to Benny.

I don't wanna start playing 'til I've seen the full intro :/

Noone can even atleast verify if Ellen is just supposed to get a brief mention in the intro but no story like the guys?

That's the exact intro I have, it just seems like Ellen has had part of her story cut, maybe censored, afterall in the story she was pretty much just Benny's sex toy to abuse. It's either something cut out or just crap editting ingame.

So far, from what I have read about the deleted content of the game, it is possible that her part in the intro was either intended to be shorter then the others, since she isn't as "bad" as the others, or that there was a part cut-out.

From what i remember of the story, Benny was gay and Ellen was made into a sex toy for all of the guys. Benny was made 'beastily hung' as some point of irony because he was gay and the only one he could have sex with was a woman.

I have no idea how much of this post will be censored...

This was the same intro for me, he just mentions she doesn't like the color yellow

I can't watch the video right now because of lag, but if I remember correctly, AM mentions the yellow, then the box and the fact it's yellow, pain (not going into that) and then he says something along the lines of "Now now, don't start to cry. It's only pain. Tsk tsk tsk. That's such a sexist stereotype. Just remember the pain, Ellen. And think about how to end it." and he says something about surviving there (like where they're tortured) and then he tells her to look around and gives her a warning that all the "filthy" creatures around her were men and says "Just a warning, Ellen my love." (it may have been "Just a sweet warning", he says sweet somewhere XD) then he talks to Benny about the field and stuff. ^^

I never skip the opening because Harlan Ellison's voice is so cool! XD Does this help? I didn't realise it was sometimes censored, then again, the game never shows if she acts as she did in the story, so I'm not surprised. ^^; I have a feeling we're all missing a section if that is the case.

There's clearly a chunk of the intro missing for one reason or another, I'm gonna find a copy of the game somewhere and copy it over my steam version.

I seem to have the same problem. In fact, Ellen's ending seemed like parts were missing as well. Did they just censor some of her story? If so, that's a huge freaking deal, especially since there isn't a disclaimer that it's been censored.

There is a cut in the audio, and the intonation of Ellison alone states that there was something cut from the beginning of what he was saying. If you listen to a lot of him talking, he talks like a melody! :D

If you guys listen to the radio drama and read the story (and you must read another story called Grail, a dozen more are heavily referenced in-game, but IHNMAIMS and Grail alone will suffice), and I can transcribe some dialogue from the comic version in Harlan Ellison's Dream Corridor, and it'll make so much more sense as to what may be missing. (Also, comic Ted is really smart!! He actually stops to have empathy, it's a miracle. XD)

Notice in Gorrister's track, all of the graffiti, but particularly "For a good time, call Ellen 555-1945"? I feel like they purified Ellen with the censors like Benny not being able to eat a baby (and what was also likely the cancellation of the PS1 edition that was to be released along with it originally) and hence, some of her speech got removed then, I guess!

I have a plan to fix this gap! :D

I used the wayback machine to download the trial of the game, I feel it may be uncesored because of it's release date! A driver in it won't run, and I have no floppy reader to use my copy of DOS, anyone wanna figure out the mystery with me? XD (Also, we all want that really stunningly beautiful music that supposedly loops in the trial, right? :D)

I am not convinced that they censored or cut ellens intro. I don't imaging that Ellison recorded the entire intro in one continuous take so the glaring edit splice before ellen's intro does not surprise me.

I think the reason it feels incomplete is because she is the only one of the five with no character flaw that would justify her being relegated to the torturous hell the AM put them through. She is the only pure victim of the lot. If they put anything about her background it would likely be a spoiler. The reference to the yellow box is simply a teaser to her story line.
