I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream is a game I appreciate more for its writing, narrative, and atmosphere than for its gameplay. What stayed with me was how effectively it presents each character's psychological suffering, making their stories feel personal rather than simply using them as vehicles for a horror scenario. The narration and writing give the game a distinctive identity, while AM remains one of the most memorable antagonists I've encountered in a game. The dated gameplay and occasionally frustrating puzzles prevent it from being an easy recommendation, but those flaws don't completely overshadow what makes the experience special. If you're interested in dark psychological sci-fi and strong narrative writing, this is a game I think is absolutely worth experiencing.

Good history, good novel, good character development that wasnt in the novels, hard gameplay. Would recommend only if you liked the novel.

I Have No Job, and I Must Play Great Stories

Was looking for more classic games to play. This was a short and fun point & click :)

Full disclosure, I used a guide to finish this game. I am very bad at puzzles.

That said, this was still quite enjoyable. Though it's age shows the game remains visually striking, especially in it's landscapes.

The voice acting was solid throughout, and the characters each had distinct and interesting scenarios.

A few of the puzzles felt unintentionally difficult due to dated knowledge, but nothing that spoiled the fun.

Overall, for those curious, it's worth a try. There's plenty of solid guides if your a dummy like me and need them. Doing any one of the character scenarios should give a solid idea of what you can expect through the rest of the game, so it's easy to make a decision within the refund window.

LOVED IT! Definitely impossible for me to have completed without a guide, though. There's certain actions that can prevent you from progressing, so I'd recommend sparing yourself the torture of figuring things out entirely on your own.

The storytelling is great and I absolutely loved each of the main characters' scenarios!!

I will always enjoy watching Benny fall down the stairs.
