In the configuration utility, MIDI music needs to be set to General Midi (the top-most option)
If you want a much fuller sounding musical score.

Sound Blaster 16 is the default setting, making for tinny sounding music. I wonder how many people would actually know to change it. (The publisher really should do an update.)

Well, I certainly don't know how to change it. I got into this game not expecting to get earraped :steamfacepalm:
