Autumn Games could, but that would mean speaking to Capcom executives. I don't think they could brush over the fact that the game has huge controversy, excluding the June 2023 update fiasco.

Apparently, no one is making this game at the moment. So, I really doubt any crossover or collaboration is going to take place in the near future.
Given the mess this game became, we're probably better off if that doesn't happen.
I'm already scared that Capcom would screw up Darkstalkers if they brought it back. Do you really think it should collaborate with the game that censored it's content twice?

Given that Capcom has engaged in it's own "censorship patches" in the past (e.g. R. Mika's butt slap) it likely wouldn't be the kind of collaboration you'd want.

If you type Skull Girls, I will judge you.

I'd say the same for "Dark Stalkers".

I'd cut em some slack. The franchise has been dormant for decades.

I originally pitched that the teams who developed Skullgirls reach out to Capcom about licensing the Darkstalkers IP, but given current events, that dream appears to be even more distant.

Still, I agree that the "vibe" of Skullgirls would translate well into something Darkstalkers related.

I recall the 2015 and 2023 updates. What was the 3rd?

And now we wait for the " That's not censorship" crowd to lie to our faces again.

One of the many reasons (at least in internet) of why nobody takes seriously of this "extremist fight" anymore; that works like this are still stuck in mobile hell.

Darkstalkers is waaaaay too problematic.

I wish I was kidding. But considering jokes like Demitri's special moves.

The issue at hand now though is that SG is largely in limbo with no officially hands on dev team, much less any future plans being presented.

not mentoining the obvious ways that coudn't happen.

but the cordination between something like that and capcom...
well what money do they stand to gain? Could you imagine the headache of trying to coordinate that deal, shake hands and do all the legal work with IP rights. Follow and censor the game according to international standards that would be against the soul of both games.

there's the obvious.

but then have it be such a niche game that the returns on that development costs probalby would be lucky to break even.

there's always mugen

The dichotomy of how simple of a base software it is and how many amazing things it contributed to largely due to being so simple is... epic.
