As for your feelings, getting into a late stage fighting game can be hard, as the people who still play the game have been doing so for a while and are likely just better players then you are right now. What I recommend is not focusing on winning matches right now, but instead just focusing on getting better and allowing yourself to feel good when you make little achievements, such as nailing a combo you've been practicing or blocking a mix-up that's been getting you.
Look up "Skullgirls Beginnners Guides" on Youtube and you'll no doubt find a plethora of resources to help you get your footing. You could also look up character specific guides once you've settled on a team that might help ground you.
Aside from being censored to irrelevancy, all development efforts go into the mobile game. Can't even recommend any of the single player story as the original creators are long gone and what we have here is empty even by fanservice game standards.
But that's the Skullgirls curse for ya. Shouldn't have censored those panty shots a decade ago.
And now everyone can play mvc2 again on any platform. so what's the point getting this?
I don't like to use one game to put down another, but I have no interest in going back to MvC2. Actually, the game just makes me feel like I'd rather be playing SG.
