Report a translation problem
Select a brick for placement, like Light Armor Block. Hover over the part you want to color. [ and ] change color. P opens color picker. Middle Mouse applies the color.
You must be in block placement mode, like with the Light Armor Block selected, or it won't color anything.

Also dont forget that P opens the paint pallet for custom colors. You arent limited to the preset colors using [ and ].
They have also expanded the colorable (?) blocks, so you can color the enclosed cockpit, antenna, battery, doors, etc...
