Not getting any platinum when mined
Could this be a glitch? (im mining it from a meteorite that crashed into my base on earth)
Other ore besides platinum works just fine, it's just platinum that's not giving any.
It's slightly modded but not to game changing. (using a proficient hand drill) tier 2

Could be a bug, have seen games where trying to mine boulders has left the boulder intact even when I could dig the ground around it away, still mods 'might' be causing it in some weird way. Best bet is to eliminate the mods as the problem.

First off see if a reload solves it, if so excellent just a glitch. If not try making a new save and unmodding it and see if that works, if so its a mod conflicting the game if not then a bug to report.

If a mod then start re-adding mods until one prevents plat being mined, go to the modders WS page and then report it to them so they can fix the issue.

The reason is simply that Platinum has an extremely low ore-to-ingot ratio configured in the game now, and that meteor strikes only produce tiny amounts of ores. If you're mining Platinum ore the amount you get in return for drill effort is a tiny fraction of the amount you would get for the same effort on Iron ore. The actual ratio for ore extractions look like this :

Iron = 0.7
Nickel = 0.4
Cobalt = 0.3
Magnesium = 0.007
Silicon = 0.7
Silver = 0.1
Gold = 0.01
Platinum = 0.005
Uranium = 0.01

I reloaded still did not work, but i will slowly start to unmod then remod it. And prob test if i can spawn some in and see if i will get some then.

The way those figures work you can see if you compare mining deposits of platinum and iron on an asteroid - the iron produces lots of floating ore pieces from a small volume of removed material, but you have to dig away a huge chunk of platinum ore to get just a couple of small floating bits of ore - so if its a tiny amount on a planetary meteor impact, you will get nothing at all.

As for testing, if you enable admin creative tool and voxel hand you can create ore patches on the ground.

You're not sometimes using the right hand mouse button for drilling maybe?

The amount of mineral in a meteor impact seems to be microscopic. Most of the black burned ground around the impact doesn't even give you stone either.

Did you get literally zero? or a tiny amount and then nothing afterwards?

So far, the best source of platinum I've found is to get a space encounter that spawns drones just above my base on Pertam. Every few minutes a new raider drone drops out of the sky and delivers me half a dozen thruster components and some nearly free ammunition as the ion thrusters just aren't able to keep the things flying inside a gravity well.

Sorely tempted to just build an asteroid eater and use a gravel sifter mod, given how little luck I've had finding mineable platinum up in space and how far I'll have to travel to get to a moon to try my luck there.

The best you can do would be to reproduce the same "Bug" in new created No Mods world and send that save to the SE Programmers so they can have a look at the bug you found and be able to start working on a fix.
