Small landing gear ?

I have a base but I am trying to build a small ship - but as soon as i place a landing gear down to start it is the Big one , how can i change it to a small landing gear ?

You have to start with a small landing gear but instead of placing it down on some blocks you need to drop it onto them. It will then stay as a small block.

For the rotor way you place a large rotor on your supporting large grid, grind of it's head, then you go to the rotors terminal page and press the "add small head" button there.

just set your landing gear to small then throw it out then weld it up. It should auto lock.

Put the landing gear in your hotbar, press the associated number of that slot once for a large one and again for a small one. Once you've set it to a small block, you can place it anywhere you want. If it snaps back to a large block again, press the same slot number to toggle it back to a small one.
