Nanite Factory
Is there a way to get the Nanite Factory, to build on blueprints by itself. Curently I need to weld the first piece of the block/machine before it will construct.

Simple: Can you get the Nanites to build blueprints/hologram from the projecter.

I'm not sure about this (Nanite Factory) but I use the ''ShipYard'' mod to do so.

Can you link to this mod? that you are using.

(This is the mod i'm talking about) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=655922051
Hi the nanite factory is designed to work so you have to do the first block as well as use beacons this prevents unwanted construction, granted the nanite factory has a lot of redundancies to keep the nanites confined to a certain area. If you looking for something fast i would suggest what dan suggested nanite is a versatile mod but its slower then welding mods like shipyard.

The Shipyard keeps getting stuck on idle, when I try to weld or grind.

It may be a new bug and the Author does not know.

Have a look at the description/comments on the workshop item.

When having problems with a MOD = the best person that can help you is the Mod Author. :approve:

Make sure you have enough power sources to support welding. With 2 large reactors and a small reactor from my docked ship, I had to set it to 1 beam per corner at 0.02 speed.

It works quite nicely, but make sure the ship is not attached to your station; it needs its own grid or not everything will get welded. Also each time the power goes out, you need to reconfigure the shipyard corners (if you can't meet default power requirements).

To be fair, my shipyard is 30x20x20 so it has large power requirements. If the yard is constructed and not welding/grinding, it'll outline ships inside it. They have to fit before the yard will run.

To answer the original question, yes, with a minor caveat.

I've done this a couple of times, with a bit of trial and error. You need a powered projector, projecting the blueprint you want the nanite control factory to weld up for you, and if not part of the same grid as the factory, you need both a projection beacon and a repair beacon on it (must be fully welded up).

In my own testing, what I did was slap together what was essentially a projector on a stick, locked onto the top of my mothership with a landing gear, and with its own small reactor. I then built both necessary beacons onto the thing, set up the projector, and sat back to watch. A short time later, I was cutting an old KSH miner free, and it worked fine.
