how is the xbox 360 controller support?

hey guys

i hook my pc up to my living room tv with my stereo there and i would like to know if i can manage everything with the vontroller, from when the game starts to going back to the deskop.

how is the support?

This is my main thing about buying the game since well. Can't just go out and grab a good racing wheel since this and The Crew will be my only racing games not really worth grabbing a racing wheel for it.

You will have to set some advanced settings to get the controller to work properly.
With the standard settings I found you get horrible understeer.
On the AC official forums their are various posts with xpad 360 settingt to try and also a guide to what the actual settings do.

Xbox 360 controller support is fine- just know that it is not like Forza, Grand Turismo, Need For Speed Shift or even Project Cars. You have full lock-to-lock steering as you would expect in the real world. This means you have to spend some time setting up the controller to get the best feel from it, there are plenty of controller players that play Assetto Corsa.

It will never be the same as Forza, GT etc because those do not emulate real world steering.

If you have the time and patience to set the controller up, there are plenty of sliders to adjust such things as gamma, filter, speed sensitivity etc to get it as close to Forza etc as possible, but it will never be the same, it will be more sensitive and a lot more precise.

Don't have the money or space for a wheel either, so I'm always using a 360 pad. It takes some getting used to, but I'm quite happy with how it works in this game. I do still use the mouse for the menu though. The analog stick is very sensitive, which is a bit annoying, but if you turn the sensitivity down, you'll have issues because the steering would be too slowl, they have to do something about that, but generally it feels absoloutely fine. I always enjoy playing it despite only having a 360 pad

thx 4 all the advice, yes tbh i played forza 4 a lot so yeah i was looking for a new racing game because i dont buy the new consoles

so i would like to operate the game with full controller support!

meanig menues and a pop up keyboard when i have to enter a name and stuff


like i said i play from the couch and then i dont want all the stuff laying around like the keyboard an mouse

instead of using xbox menu try this with ur xbox controller:
u havre to setup ur xbox 360 controller as wheel/custom

-wheel/custom main

set stearing; use left stick and set to 40

setup throttle RT. u got more control now

setup brake LT

setup gear up and down ( B & X)

-advanced:

gamma 2.00

filter 0.90

speed seni 0.13

pedal settings: 2.40


trust me, its the best setup u can have with a controller
