I don't think it's wheel either to be honest but he got the problem after he switched from 360 controller to logitech G29. we use cars with 400hp+. I use same setup as he does and i can drift flawless. It's like the engine is cutting off the power instantly. He had no problem with same cars and same setup when he used a xbox 360 controller before. It's like he got a permanent traction control even though it's turned off :(. He can't even do a burnout or donuts
Yeah we have tested that also both in main menu and in-game by using ctrl+T and it says "TC OFF" :(
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\system\cfg
DAMPER_GAIN= change it to 0, instead of 1.
But either way, drifting with a gamepad and then switching to ffb wheel+pedals is too different to rely on the same technique. You'll need to practice a lot now.
Well i don't think it's the wheel either as i said earlier i think there have been a problem between the files when he used a xbox controller or something like that, i don't know. Well he knows how to handle a car and he knows how to drift a car because he's a drifter in real life as me and he have been drifting on pc in LFS and Rfactor before when he had an older wheel. Well It's like the engine is cutting off the power instantly, it's like he got a permanent traction control even though it's turned off, can't even do a burnout or donuts i mean you don't have to be an expert to do a burnout or donuts. only time he got full power from the engine is when he got grip when racing gt3 cars
Okey thx will check that out :). Well he have been drifting on pc before in lfs and rfactor with an older wheel that is broken now, that's why he used 360 controller in AC. As i said to every one it's like the engine is cutting the power when he tries to drift but when he got grip he got full power, He can't even do a burnout or a donut because the engine is cutting the power, i mean you don't have to be an expert to drift with wheel to do a burnout. It's like he got permanent TC on.
Do you have a manual shifter for the G29? Maybe the game is using the clutch pedal, open the pedals app and check out when you're trying to drift. What about automatic gears? In case yes, it should be manually controlled by the player for better control.
All assist are turned off, only abs in on factory and we double check in-game by pressing Ctrl+T till it's off. Yepp he got manual shifter and manually gearing with clutch and so on.
If you tried to drift in optimum surface, try lower grips, like a Green track.
Okey sure will ask if my friend can send me some videos when he tries to drift. He is absolutely not a rookie i can tell you that if you think so. I don't think the surface is the problem, because we use cars with 400+hp and we use exactly the same setup and i can drift flawless without any problem at all :/
Firstly, he has installed the Logitech profile software for the wheel, yes? In the Logitech software sert the wheel rotation to 900 degress and turn the damper and spring off/zero.
Then in AC create a new profile for a wheel and map all the keys, pedals and steering to a new profile and save it. Make sure you set the AC wheel rotation to match 900 as well.
Job done.
okey thx, i will go through every thing again with him and see if i can see anything. Yeah he have installed logitech software and rotation on 900
