How do you interperate the little road guidelines?
I get they're trying to help with corner control, but how they work isn't explained... or it's explained in somewhere other than practice mode.

You mean the "ideal racing line"? Green is accelerating and red is braking.

For which vehicle? The line seems the same for all cars.

im guessing it is its just an average line that you take but as you drive a car more and more and practice with it you will learn the breaking points that you need to take and for the lines sometimes you will have to actually take a different line than suggested as alot of the time on a track such as the nurburgring you will need to change braking points and turning points and as you get better and better you will be able to take the racing line off even if you are on a track that you have never driven before

The racing line is static, its not dynamic so you have to learn how much braking and how much throttle to apply but the line shows when to brake and where you should be on the track.

But ya, I think I was trying to say "interpolate" and didn't complete the thought :>

As everyone had said, it's a guide of the racing line and braking points, but only a very rough guide. It's not dynamic (it doesn't take into account your current speed) and it doesn't adapt to the speed of the car you're driving. So some cars you'll need to brake much sooner, some you can get away with braking much later than it suggests.

Ya, it was just a weird typo sparked by thoughtlessness.

Let me give you a serious hint. If you look up my RSR times then you notice I know what I talk about - and I only seriously tried for 2 days.
From someone who can drive: Turn off the ideal line. Learn to improve without this nonsense. I call it nonsense because it IS nonsense, it is incorrect for most cars, the breaking points to not fit either. The line is always the same no matter what setup you use.

So turning it off will be hard at first, but you get used to learning the track and you learn to find own track markers where to break, etc. With this line all you do is watch it and drive on it. That wont do any good.

But lots of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ again in this thread. A bunch of stupid people claming to be more intelligent just because OP did a spelling mistake. Poor beings detected.

as the man above said: turn off the driving line! its like learning italian to understand your spanish wive. maybe for multiplayer to avoid crashes on new tracks.
just do some slow laps on a new track and try to memorise reference marks on the track for brake points. like beginning of a curb, a road sign etc.. avoid objects like pylons because they will move :P

Or perhaps his question was answered with the very first reply to this thread and he chose to ignore it.

It was answered and you gave a helpful reply also, I was not being critical of anyone in particular........pedantry is a fault I fall into many times myself, just thought it was not needed here!
We all have mindblock at times.......if you " interperate" what I mean.
