ps4 pad not working?

Hi everyone.
A friend of mine just purchased the game yesterday, but he just cannot get his DS4 pad to be recognized by the game. Is there any other software necsassery or should it work like"plug and play"? Would be thankfull for any help.

open big picture and enable the "Ps4 controller support" after that it should work fine (like me playing with da DS4)

Press the little controller button on the top right of steam window. It opens steams "big picture" mode aka controller mode.
