Logitech FFB
I'd love to play more of this game, but one thing is ruining the experience for me a lot. I don't know if it is just me, or if it's normal for all Logitech wheels in this game, but the FFB is just not very good. The biggest problem is this huge FFB deadzone around the middle. I don't get pretty much any feel from the car until the wheel is several degrees from the center, at which point there finally starts to be some resistance. In specific situations I do get FFB in this zone, for example some bumps and rumble and even some "pull" when recovering from a slide for example, but on straights and while turning just slightly there is absolutely no resistance. It makes it hard to control the car properly unless I'm in a corner. Is this normal? Are other Logitech users experiencing this?

Really, which games? Because I've played pretty much all racing sims currently available, new ones and old ones, with my G29. They all have a slight center deadzone. Funnily enough I've always thought it was less noticeable in AC. This is indeed due to how gear-driven wheels work. I've researched this and tried many suggestions, but there is no way around it. It's not an AC-specific problem.
Have you played anything from Reiza? Stock Car Extreme is very good, but Automobilista with it's setting which I can't reember the name of, but is pretty much the equivalent of minimum force is perfect. The FFB is amazing there, and the deadzone is just so tiny you cannot notice it at all. Not on my wheel. But I've recently got into RSRBR, which modifies a lot of things but FFB seems to be from the original RBR, and same story, basically no deadzone there. In Dirt Rally with the Impact FFB mod the deadzone is again so small you can't really notice it. I also tried ETS2 and ATS with a FFB mod for G wheels. When I was stopped and turning the wheels, there was absolutely no pause in the resistance from the motors when going through the center. And though I don't like Project Cars, and the deadzone is noticeable there, it's still much better than in AC. Yes, somewhere in the driver or who knows there these wheels have a configured deadzone, but it can be disabled if you set the FFB with it in mind.
I've played Automobilista. Noticeable ffb deadzone with G29. Same in RBR and Dirt Rally. It doesn't bother me though.

Vanilla DR definitely has one, did you use the Impact mod? And what about RBR? Was it vanilla? Mine is quite modded, so it might be different. Don't know about automobilista though, what settings do you use and what car?
But please read my clarification on the issue in AC, it's a bit different.

Because we can all agree a big zone in which there is no feeling from the car is definitely good, righr?

I just found a thing called LUT generator, it fixes the problem completely.
Once again shows the wheel is capable of much more if you tune the FFB to utilize it properly.
I can finally enjoy Assetto Corsa.

It can also depend on what you have the Logitech / Windows Wheel settings set to.

IE for use with all Sims it should have Center Spring set to 0 etc.

Never noticed an issue with my G25.

That was true with the G25 and G27, the G29/920 for some unknown reason doesn't have the proper settings in Win/profiler. There aren't any. We are demanding them from Logitech from the beginning, bu no luck yet.

And with you not noticing an issue, I think it just comes down to the fact that what is an issue for me might not be an issue for you and vice versa. Though it might be, it's not necessarilly any different for you, it's just everyone has different tastes. FFB is known to be highly subjective.
You can change the centering spring strength for the G29 and G920 now.

I'm glad you found LUT generator, and I'm surprised no one mentioned it in this thread up until now. Fantastic little app, it is.

Centering spring yes, etc no. But if I had that on, I wouldn't be experiencing what I was experiencing. I wouldn't get proper FFB either though.

Definitely is. I have been searching the internet for something like this for months, no idea why it never showed up.

interesting I've allso stopped playing AC cause of deadzone on g29 but don't get it on rf2 or raceroom so it really gets rid of the deadzone? does it make the FFB feel better? looks a bit pain in arse to use

Yep, also don't have it in other games. It really works. Feels much better to me,and as you can see in reviews, many others too. Installing it took me only few minutes, the guide is clear and understandable and installation is quite easy.
