LAN server crashes after 1minute
I managed to finally setup my own LAN server after many struggles. It worked fine, me and my mate can both join and play, but only for a short amount of time.

Whne I open my server it seems that everything is fine. But after ~60sec it just closes, no error message or anything like that. Just closes without a single word. Since it doesn't say any message I don't know any bug fix, and I wanted to know if anyone else have experienced this bug and if they can help me.

Thanks in advance!

Have you checked for errors/warnings in the server logs only or in the Windoze Event Viewer too and Task Manager to see if server is still up but you both timeout, which could be caused by a firewall?

I just checked most of my Windows Event Logs. Didn't see any changes that have to do with the server.

I then checked my assetto corsa error logs, and yes, it gives 1 error each time, but it doesn't have anything in the file. It's all empty.

I also tried giving public permission to Assetto Corsa which didn't change anything.

To delimit the error/fault you could download Sysinternals Procexp from technet.microsoft, start it as admin and make sure acServer.exe shows up in the Procexp list. Then join with a car and let it run in the 'background' with Procexp in foreground and acServer.exe visible. When you timeout, either acServer.exe is gone and is not in the list anymore and it's a problem with the exe or it is in still running and it might be more of a network problem. If it's the exe you will have to contact Kunos support though.

I did what you said and it dissapears from the list.

A note to add is that whether I use the Server Manager to start the server of the acServer.exe it does the same thing.

Also I don't think it times out, because when you lose connection I can still drive in the server, my mate just gets thrown out. And then it says that I lost connection. Not sure if it's timing out in this game. I am brand new to it.

Edit1: I forgot to mention that whenever I press "Update Server Conent" in Server Manager, it says completed, and then shows a BIG list with all the cars that it couldn't update, not sure if that information helps.

The ServerManager is just a GUI used to write into the files in cfg and execute acServer.bat which creates log files and executes acServer.exe. The only 'weird' thing is that you can actually connect and drive for a bit. Do you have antivirus or anything like that, although it's weird again because then it shouldn't execute at all.. You could whitelist acServer.exe or the whole server folder.
Maybe someone else has another idea, else contact Kunos support.

Edit to your edit. You could delete acServer.exe and in Steam verify the integrity of the game server files, which should redownload acServer.exe or just delete everything and redownload and start an integrity verification just to be sure.

I did everything you just told me. No change, I even turned off all my anti-virus programs I had (I only use Windows Defender) to no avail. I then gave full permissions to the server folder and it still closes after about 1 minute.

I'm at a loss on what to do, I doubt it will help contacting their support, and I can't be bothered to do so right now. I just really wanted to play with my mate in this game.

Oh well, thanks for your help and time. Have a good one.

I would love to see this resolved. Currently very frustrated with this exact porblem. Only difference is that my server only runs for a few seconds of driving.

Yeah same issue that I had. It would open and after about 30 seconds it would close.

yes, you uninstall the game, and find another game that supports LAN servers.

I had the same problem and it seems to be something to do with the environment, i.e. where files are located and as a result it times out.

I have ended up with 2 server installs. one in the default steam location ....../common/assetto corsa dedicated server
This is the server I use and it is reliable, however I cannot run the config manager from its directory as it wants to be able to find the main exe in the directory above and as such it wont run.
So I run another server config in ....../common/assettocorsa/assetto corsa dedicated server
this is the directory that steam put the assetto main app in.

Now what I need to do is run the acservermanager from that location and then export the entry and server config files to the cfg folder in the first directory I mention.

Then start the server from steam and NOT from the acservermanager app.

its a bit of a faff but its worked for me.

I'm also having the same issue. In the output log I see this at the end "ERROR,INVALID SERVER,CHECK YOUR PORT FORWARDING SETTINGS
LOBBY COULD NOT BE RACHED, SHUTTING SERVER DOWN"
But i am hosting it as a lan using Hamachi
Black_Potato 30 SEP 2017 a las 3:56
Thats not quite the same but I did see that as well.

Assuming you are only using the server locally you dont need to be able to get to the online comunity lobby. you can stop this by going into the server cfg file and deleting the "1" from the lobby linein the config and then restarting.
