I then checked my assetto corsa error logs, and yes, it gives 1 error each time, but it doesn't have anything in the file. It's all empty.
I also tried giving public permission to Assetto Corsa which didn't change anything.
A note to add is that whether I use the Server Manager to start the server of the acServer.exe it does the same thing.
Also I don't think it times out, because when you lose connection I can still drive in the server, my mate just gets thrown out. And then it says that I lost connection. Not sure if it's timing out in this game. I am brand new to it.
Edit1: I forgot to mention that whenever I press "Update Server Conent" in Server Manager, it says completed, and then shows a BIG list with all the cars that it couldn't update, not sure if that information helps.
Maybe someone else has another idea, else contact Kunos support.
Edit to your edit. You could delete acServer.exe and in Steam verify the integrity of the game server files, which should redownload acServer.exe or just delete everything and redownload and start an integrity verification just to be sure.
I'm at a loss on what to do, I doubt it will help contacting their support, and I can't be bothered to do so right now. I just really wanted to play with my mate in this game.
Oh well, thanks for your help and time. Have a good one.
I have ended up with 2 server installs. one in the default steam location ....../common/assetto corsa dedicated server
This is the server I use and it is reliable, however I cannot run the config manager from its directory as it wants to be able to find the main exe in the directory above and as such it wont run.
So I run another server config in ....../common/assettocorsa/assetto corsa dedicated server
this is the directory that steam put the assetto main app in.
Now what I need to do is run the acservermanager from that location and then export the entry and server config files to the cfg folder in the first directory I mention.
Then start the server from steam and NOT from the acservermanager app.
its a bit of a faff but its worked for me.
LOBBY COULD NOT BE RACHED, SHUTTING SERVER DOWN"
But i am hosting it as a lan using Hamachi
Assuming you are only using the server locally you dont need to be able to get to the online comunity lobby. you can stop this by going into the server cfg file and deleting the "1" from the lobby linein the config and then restarting.
just saying
