People saying the game is "bad" are either people that have trouble running the game at all (legitimate concern) or people with no imagination that need content shoveled to them instead of creating exactly what content they want whenever they want it.
7 launched with over 700 cars.
8 launched with 499 cars. (only 590 total as of May)
This is my number 2 reason for not getting it. Number one is that they removed the Fiesta ST. So it's a bad game for cutting a huge amount of content from prior games.
Horizon series actually plays better. FWD cars are also more realistic in the arcade games than in the mainline titles. In the real world with 200 TW+ tires, FWD does not understeer....

If your on Console I'd go for GT7
Ive been playing Forza Motorsport since launch and its far worse then what it was past the tracks and cars
GT7 I have on my PS4 and I enjoy the heck outta that feels better all around
https://streamable.com/894c0u (I ate 2.25 sec penalty for that) This game provides the best racing experience
I bought it on release, for full price. Today I have about 1,100 hours in, have had nothing but fun in multiplayer. No regrets at all. Even through the occasional load hang/disconnect, it never bothered me so much to not play.
If you just want some no bs no strings attached racing then you'll be happy with your purchase imo. The physics are pretty dang good (Even comparing to my simrig w/ iRacing). The graphics are good, could be better in some areas (ahem..cockpit), but overall it's a nice balanced looking game. The racing is fluid on controller and wheel.
Performance is just fine on my machine, 10850k and a 3080. I run 1440p locked at 60fps and my GPU hovers around 50-60% usage during a full field race. CPU 10-15%.
The game launched lacking seriously but it's on the right track. Player count is slowly climbing. Reviews are slowly going more positive.
I would for sure grab it while it's on sale if you're on the fence. You've got two hours to see how it runs for you before you're locked in. Nothing to lose.
That means -100% sale or F2P, it's still not good.
