The joy of Dysmantled rested in the way you could pick apart the world and its barriers. Grinding out levels and equipment made the artificial barriers actually fun to... well, dismantle. While there's still a lot to demolish in Dysplaced, the narrow, constricting confines of the poorly designed and uninteresting maps are full of barriers that the demolition aspect of the game doesn't allow you to overcome, completely negating one of the best aspects of the original game.

The weapons at your disposal are surprisingly bland for a fantasy setting. Unlocks come at a pretty fast clip, something I like, but it feels like there could be a much wider breadth of equipment, clothing/armor, and alchemical toys to play with. What's here feels so basic as to be head-scratching. There's no joy in any of this.

The one highlight is being able to build anywhere, which wasn't always possible in Dysmantled. Here you can set up a base camp where you please. I'd recommend making a beeline through the main story quest until you can build portals. The decision not to tie fast travel to the campfires you build is an aggravating one, but when you can start to build the fast travel points, it doesn't take long before you have plenty of resources to do so all over the map.

The camera is a particularly aggravating chore, especially given the narrow walkways and mountain settings you'll be traversing through. Lore is paper thin as is interaction with anything outside of a spirit guiding you onward, and while that loneliness worked well in Dysmantled, here it feels like a waste of a fantasy setting. More NPCs to interact with, more towns, and a deeper variety of enemies would help but I don't see this as being salvageable with future updates.

I'd love to be proven wrong about that becuse Dysmantled was a delightful game that should have made a sequel a slam-dunk, but Dysplaced is a disappointing effort that fails on pretty much every level to understand what made the original game fun, and takes a step backwards in terms of its exploration. If you haven't played the first, this would be an okay entry point, but honestly, I'd just pick that one up.

Was having a blast til they forced one more jump from pillar to pillar maze event. Makes me want to get my money back but it is too late.

Mediocre game with some fun parts. Was enjoying the story. But forcing parkour crap - just not my idea of fun. If you like parkour you might have fun but it seems they put just enough parkour crap in to piss of those who don't like it but nowhere near enough for people who really enjoy that kind of thing.

Enjoying the game even in this early stages. Haven't ran into many bugs, few floating things but that's about it.
